So Friday I got a water pump and timing belt put in my 2008 Toyota tundra. After I got it Hon I hadn’t realized that the P on the dashboard stayed on until the next morning which in fact killed my battery. Went through all the fuses under the hood and interior fuse box all looks good please can anybody help I’m new to the forum and I’m not much of a piston head

If it's the shift quadrant "P" that won't go off, then I suspect that if you shift to another quadrant position, you'll find that one is on as well. It sounds like your key switch is not turning off the ignition system. Are you sure you're turning the switch all the way to the "OFF" position? Checking fuses won't help because your problem is that you have power when you shouldn't, not the other way around.

If you can't figure out an obvious oversight, then take it back to the guy who changed your timing belt and water pump.

I had a First Gen 4Runner with that problem. It was disturbing the first time it happened and dangerous. Thankfully, I never discovered if the steering wheel would lock up if the key was removed while driving.

Get a fresh key cut, preferably from a spare key with little wear. That will probably fix your problem.
