Divide 5.7L by 2 and you get 2.85L. That's still bigger than a Camry engine that gets 35 mpg. Divide that by 2 and you get 17.5 mpg. I'd say Tundy's get excellent fuel economy for their size!!!

I will admit...I did check the first tank on my Platinum. The computer said 17.8 BUT my hand calculation with the trusty calculator app said 19.1, mostly highway miles. The second tank was 17.3 and 17.5 respectively with mixed driving. First tank calculation must have been an anomaly.

Shouldn't they be suing the EPA for doing their highway tests at 48 mph?

And the Tundra with my wife and I and 2 Boxers we are probably pushing 6,000 lbs. so yes the laws of physics apply. So the Tundra has twice the motor pushing a vehicle twice the size with twice the drag and twice the weight! 17 mpg is entirely reasonable.
When I was in sales we were taught “under promise but over deliver and you will have a customer for life”.....Sounds like Ford overpromised and underdelivered. Not a recipe for success.

My Tundra hasn't saw above 13.5 since 90k and plus one Cooper SST Pro's. It's not a dd, so I really don't care. It replaced a Superduty that got better mileage on diesel but lived at the shop.

I don't care about MPG, I do care stopping for gas too often. 38 Gallon on the Tundra was great! I only gas up once a week. 26 Gallon on the Sequoia I stop for gas twice a week. I am thinking of customizing a gas tank reservoir in the rear compartment. I think I can fit 10-16 gallons of fuel in there. Filler neck, to reservoir to main tank,

I’ll take low mpg over something that shuts off every time I stop, doesn’t know what hear it wants to be in and isn’t going to see 300k miles. I’m only 1.5 mpg lower than the F150 I couldn’t wait to get out of. I’m lovin’ my Tundy

    Tastefully enhanced...
If you owned a gasser truck that got good fuel mileage, you'd be wanting to go back to a Tundra...power needs fuel. Better fuel mileage is for diet trucks...

Kuul, keep in mind that some of us live in a much higher altitude. I'm at 5740ft. We have members here in Colorado at 10000ft+.

I have the pedal commander and occasionally I may roll all the windows down, put it to sport plus and see how low I can get the MPG on a trip to Lowe’s or where ever. My record is 7.9 MPG for a four mile trip. Low score wins right? In my brain I look like Mel Gibson in Mad Max. Gas is $1.85 a gallon in South Carolina right now.

My Rock Warrior was used solely for towing our camper or our utility trailer loaded with mulch our my Hustler zero turn mower. 13mpg was the norm. This Platinum rides so nice and with all the safety nannies I imagine I will be driving it more than the 3,000 a year I put on the Rock Warrior....so I will appreciate the 38 gallon tank.

But in all fairness I rented an F150 From Enterprise with the 2.7L Ecoboost and drove it from Ohio to western Indiana to pick up a Miata I bought and Had to fill it up before I turned it in out there. It got 24.2mpg....impressive! And it was a basic XLT crew cab 4x4. Although adequate to move the truck it wouldn’t work with my towing needs. And then there is the reliability question.

Pretty sure he's saying that the Colorado elevation combined with the marijuana potency results in lower mileage. Derrrr.
