I'm still preferring the '15-'17 style more.
That grill looks suspiciously chrome like and seems pretty "busy "

The new scoop, however, will undoubtedly house another light bar mod within weeks of these hitting the streets.

Y'all are funny! My wife is always trying to get me to spend money and she's pushing me to build my dream shop. I'm always trying to get her to buy stuff but she's only bought 4 pairs of shoes in 20 years that weren't from the thrift store. The problem is that we're both so tight we squeak when we're walking down the sidewalk!

I don't know but that scoop thou. Like how many hood scoops do we need? The bulge already is designed like a scoop. It looks like a scoop on top of another scoop. That's too much for me. Purely aesthetics.

My buddy calls the bulge the mail slot. I think the fake scoop just adds drag and could effect mpg. I wonder if its bolt swap parts for the 15-17 models.

I like the Pro grill better, headlights are nice but I'll stick with my retros, not big on the hood scoop unless it's functional.

+1, scoops especially fake ones do nothing for me. I would just take current grill in black or colored match. Toyota needs to focus on improving MPGs and functional stuff like under seat storage and a locker. GM has both plus even the 6.2 does significantly better in MPGs. I hear maybe 2019 for new engines and tranny.

Ok as a guy with some older Toyota pickups, the end of that video at about 4:55 the interviewer starts trying to name an old Toyota motor and calls it an r32o (r32 is a Nissan skyline I believe) and the "chief engineer" corrects him with the r22 motor. You would think as a "chief" engineer, he would of been there awhile and would know how Toyota names their engines. It's not a ur3 motor. It's a 3ur just as it not a damn r22, it's a 22r aka the twenty second design of the r family of motors. 22r-e being the fuel injected variant and the 22r-te is the turboed fuel injected version.

Ok rant over. I feel a better.

I hate the hood scoop.....its fake haha. I wanna see the 2018 Off road! I personally am not a fan of the sport packages/trims on the Tacoma either. Does anyone else feel this way?

I think all the trds have their place. Not everyone buying a truck is a big fan off-roading but would still like something better then base but not nearly as gaudy as a platinum of 1794 (lovely trucks don't get me wrong) but the trd sport is where that middle ground falls for a lot of people. Also, between the 3 trd variants, this is the one most focused on the road handling. (I.e. Add an auburn lsd and you have one Mean mother f***** daily driver)

I agree with you. Everyone has different tastes. I just do not understand a fake hoop scoop vs a real one vs just dont have one at all if you do no want to R&D a functional one.

I'm 110% with you there. I would rather have a pro hood, but with that said just be glad they didn't slap it on the sr5.

Back in the late 70s (yes before I was born insert baby jokes here) when Toyota started producing the sr5 it stood for Sport Rally 5speed (manual) obviously some stuff has changed since then but at one point the sr5 was the sporty package.

My beef with sport packages in the GST region is add ons like steps that I do not want. Do not see many plain Sports in Tx. They add the extras than give some kind of package discount to make the fools think they are getting a deal.
