If i were to seek a 1 inch lift in the rear what would be better, AAL or rear block? I don't tow nor carry heavy payload btw.

    thank you

Why not shackle? You can replace that rubber spring bushing while you're at it and help out your ride quality.

Shackles are great but out of my budget unfortunately.

A block just raises your truck. If you want exactly the same ride as today just 1" higher, go with the block.

An add-a-leaf changes your spring characteristics. Depending on the add-a-leaf, this means better handling of weight in the bed and depending on "buttcheek feel" generally better handling.

Personally, I feel an add-a-leaf is a far superior option for a truck that is anything but a full-time mall cruiser.

Save up and do the shackle. Add a lead will ride worse, where as a shackle will improve ride

I agree that a good shackle and bushing will improve the ride, but disagree that an add-a-leaf makes the ride worse. It's a bit stiffer, but in my experience not worse.

Im only meaning worse as in he said he doesn’t haul, so he will never need the extra load ability

While I agree that a good shackle is more expensive than blocks or AAL, it's really not that much. Blocks and u bolts you're looking at $100. AAL with u bolts (recommended) are gonna be $150ish. Toytec or comparable shackle with bushings is $220. Skip the restaurant and eat at home one evening instead and it'll pay the difference. Plus, you won't have to dick around with disassembling your leaf pack.
