As a small business owner, your comments about Alex not understanding strike me as demeaning and unprofessional. Regardless of what my client may say or do I always do my best to maintain my composure and remain businesslike. I remind myself that it's better to be silent and thought a fool than to open my mouth and remove all doubt. That said, you'd be very hard pressed to find anyone who knows and understands these trucks better than Alex.

I didn't say understanding the truck. I said understanding what he purchased, my product.

So it's fair for him to go around telling everyone it's broke because he doesn't understand it?

You and his other friends in here have made your point.
I have nothing else to say on the matter.

For all my customers, we will be taking some time away from the forum.
All this continual arguing with this same guy again and again is an exhausting waste of time.

So we communicate with you guys directly only, (zendesk).

Observing neutrally from the sidelines here...

Having owned a new Tacoma (and now a new Tundra) and seeing the exact same conversations on the Tacoma World forum... It's not difficult to form an opinion.

I'm sure its a great tune when it works... and I'm sure Matt is a great guy... but it appears he is overwhelmed with work, emails, special requests, etc... and it's obviously a complete crapshoot if you are going to see any "service after the sale" here because of it. He is human, not a robot.
That seems to be the main issue/complaint here and it doesn't make someone an ass to gripe about it.

Matt obviously needs more help... but it sounds like thats already been tried and failed... so it seems the only option is to spend money elsewhere if unwilling to gamble on OV Tune. :notsure:

That's the thing, they did see this and I've gotten a letter about it. This is for the turn signal bulb being dim. To which, via this forum, I already fixed it.

I see. If it was addressed Toyota may want to verify the fix resolves the issue to their standard before they clear the recall out of their system. Its silly the dealer didn't resolve the recall entry for you.

DAP and HP are viable options and we are already working on HP. @ViktorG is the pioneer there

Mat can go on and on about telling me to go ahead and switch, but I paid him good money and I'm going to hold him accountable. But just so you know, there are other options out there. OV does not have a monopoly on this nor does he provide anything super special. While direct shift sounds nice, it doesn't work on every truck yet and that's probably the only unique function OV has so far

Nothing at all against Matt from my perspective... but OV Tune seems like too much of a gamble. (for me personally)

My truck is a 2020, so there is no support anywhere for it yet... but when it is available, HPT is the way I am going. I've already watched a number of Victor's YT videos covering the HPT system. It looks like a fantastic way to go.

That's a good question. And that's exactly why I get in this thread and tell people my experience with OV

Just try to ignore all the fan bois in here. It's your money. And your relationship with Mat is YOURS to deal with how you choose

I am still keeping an eye here in case there is something I need to look at.
Right now we are doing / sending updates out to people by ECU ID. So there is a Que.

I hope it's clear to everyone that when you get your update depends on what your ECU ID is.

We worked on getting all STOCK files setup with the patched code.
Some had some issues that needed addressed.
So it is depedendent on your ECU ID.

If you don't want gearlock of directshift at all, we could get an update to you sooner.

AND ALSO Please check your spam folder if you are using GMAIL.
Gmail sends all of our emails to spam. I don't know why, and it has been a big problem for us over the last 2 months.

Have you really tuned 10k Tacomas? @OVTune Is that at $500 a tune?
Even half that many Tacomas at that price are some impressive numbers!
How many Tundras have you tuned?

it was an exaggerated number. I don't know how many. Just a lot of them.
I didn't make no damn 5 million dollars. Just like the tacoma guys think I'm "rich" or something. I pay 50% in taxes and don't get anywhere near a million.
That's not including the actual cost of hardware, etc.

    We are a small company.

If there isn't something specifically customer related that I need to answer on here, I am not going to reply anymore.
You guys may be convinced by 1 guy who is extremely upset, or even a few, we do have a few Tundra owners who aren't happy, I get that, but I do want to get all of this finished and out to everyone. I dont want to be baited into saying something that you guys will just use against me. I genuinely do care about my work and providing the best tune possible to my customers.

I'll chime in as well. My 2018, at the time, was only able to be tuned by Mat. I'm frustrated with the timeline, but I knew it would be this way from friends that have their Tacoma's tuned by him. Overall, I think the truck drives much better with OVTune than without it. I personally don't need gearlock, and don't like the variation that I have (but it has since been changed).

I did just purchase HPTuners as well. On my first Titan I went from a Hypertech to a BDGT and finally settled on UpRev. I also went from Radflo, to Fox, to Bilstein, and settled on Kings. With my Titan XD with the Cummins I had four different tuners through EZLynk, Icons, and a Titan 50 gallon fuel tank. With the Tundra I loved my Kings in the past, so I went with them, and at the time I went with OVTune because it was the only thing that was available, but now I have my MVPI2 also. I tend to change my mind like I change my underwear. That said, I will stick with Mat and see what the final version of the tune has in store. Looking over HPTuners software and VFTuner, I prefer the simplicity of HPTuners, but again I will wait for the final version before I pass judgement. If VFTuners has the same style options where I can reduce my limiters and turn off/on Mat's custom stuff, then I think it will surpass HPTuners. If you think you're going to be able to find custom coding to disable 4WD high limits in HPTuners (currently), then you're going to have a bad time.

I feel like we need to realize that Mat, at first, offered us just a basic tune with no add-ons. This in and of itself, is basically the same as any other tune (minus gear lock), but with more power. Where I believe Mat shot himself in the foot was finding the cool shit that he did, and then telling us about it. Every one of us got excited, and he tried to cater to our needs and wants. He didn't need to, and probably should've finished the tune first, and then added to it, but hindsight is what it is, and I think that those of us that have tested the gear lock and direct shift find that it's awesome. He then took it upon himself to try and do custom shit for certain individuals, that should't have been done (in my opinion), before the tunes were finished for everone. Provide people the tunes that they paid for, and then work on others that are "custom" or wants.

In closing, I think that his tune is awesome, but the timeline absolutely sucks. I will continue to wait for my final version of my tune, and then decide where I want to go from there. In addition I had looked into potentially getting a Harrop, Whipple or ProCharger (when released) and continue to work with Mat, but it appears as though that opportunity has closed. I'm in Southern NC though, and would drive to him (with a base boosted file) for him to tune it, if he does that, but time will tell.

Stop feeding into those that are keeping the rest of us from our tunes, please.

OVTune can't do this yet either

Both HP and OVTune can get rid of the throttle limits in 4lo

The ONLY reason I bought this tune is because Mat said he could take care of throttle limits in 4wd. It wasn't until almost a year after I purchased that I realized he can't do anything about 4 hi limits

Send me a DATALOG showing me you have throttle limited in 4High. I have tested in my truck + searched through the code and cannot find any 4High limits.

I'm aware that neither of them can do it. All I'm saying is that for the person that says they were going to "figure it out," no they're not.

I've tuned diesels in there past where their . bin file was 512k. I know looking at them and trying to find maps based on shapes was an absolute nightmare. Luckily, Bosch tried it's best to identify the maps, but even then sometimes it was a crapshoot.

I can only imagine the size of our ECU files and the difficulty that comes with trying to find particular map locations. It may eventually be found, but I don't believe it will be anytime soon. The proverbial needle in a haystack comes to mind.

If you don't know of any parameters to adjust for 4hi throttle limits, why would I do data logs?

Wait, in your email you said you made adjustments to the 4hi tables and asked me to test. It's been over a month since I reported back to you but you ignored me and never answered

I can find it with data. I have no data. No logs. I need to see what the throttle is being limited to.

yes I modified some 4high tables and asked you to test.
if it didn't work, I need logs.

Let me be clear, I cannot find any 4H tables specifically for 1rst gear.

It bogs and struggles doesn't really help me locate anything.
Weird that all my other customers do datalogs.

    EDIT

I see I have my email time lines a little mixed up. Regardless, I did respond and was ignored. I'm tired of digging through emails and posting screen shots just to prove Mat isn't being honest in this thread
