4wd hi light flashing

    2008 tundra
    I have a 2008 tundra ,I have the 4wd hi light flashing not going into 4wd .Before I take actuator motor off to replace ,which wires are actually sending battery to the motor i want to put a meter on them first to make sure I have electric going to actuator

    I’m not sure on which wires, but my 2008 has been doing this on and off for a year or so. Hopefully I can gain some knowledge from this thread too.

    I'm not the best at remembering to engage 4hi every so often in my truck. Around last Xmas, it took almost 5 miles of fire roads before it would engage successfully. Flashing 4hi the entire time until it engaged. Took way longer than I thought possible. Since then, it's worked properly.

    Exercising the engage switch once a month is a good thing to do, once you have it fixed. I usually run it in 4Hi for about 10 miles then off and on a few times after that to keep it in shape.

    FYI I tried switching my truck into 4-lo/4-hi/ 2wd and back a few times and seems good now.

    Good thing to remember to switch em into low often.
