The 2020 has a Ranch Hand front brushguard/bumper
My sig should display the year/model/trim/engine
Here are some very basic things I need to learn about:

    1. Oil.
Every indication that 0W20 should be used; all in agreement?
    Synthetic or semi or?

    2. Oil filter:
    Where is the oil filter?
Does the skid plate need to be removed?
What is the oil filter PN, can't find it without the service manual I suppose.
(Yes I might change the oil myself, more on that later.)

    3. This engine compartment only has one dipstick, correct?

    4. Does the rear seat back fold down? I can only find a way to raise the seat bottom. The jacking equipment seems to be inaccessible, behind the rear seat
    Owner's manual not helpful.

    5. It appears that it is possible to lock the key in, if it is taken out of the ignition.
Has anyone dealt with this? I tend to get in and out a lot for work, leave the door open, hate the door chime so I pull the key out and set it in the console and maybe use the door lock after its time to walk away. Might have to alter my procedure! I used to have a plain metal key under the chassis but can that still be done?

My truck is only 750 miles so it's still new for me.

The oil filter is behind the skid plate so you have to remove the plate when doing oil change unless you change to an upgraded skid plate.

Rear seat doesn't fold down, only up which is kinda dumb considering the jacking equipment is back there.

    TEXAS!
EDIT TO ADD: WAS TYPING AND TAKING A PIC WHILE JIM GOT YOUR ANSWERS. DID NOT MEAN TO DOUBLE POST

my tundra is a 2019, and my answers are what i know about MY pickup.

yes, 0W20. i use mobile 1 full synthetic, specially formulated for toyota.

there are more than plenty of threads around here regarding oil for your reading pleasure. i choose not to overthink it and stick w/ mobile 1

filter is cartridge style and you'll only replace the element. filter is behind splash guard / skid. element part # for a 2019 5.7 liter is 04152-YZZA4. i get them from the dealer and usually buy 5 or 6 at a time; they're under $5 ea

i believe there is only one dipstick in the engine compartment (cannot say w/ 100% confidence)

rear seat does not fold down, only up

    i cannot answer #5

this site has an enormous amount of experience and information

ick. A plastic housing and O-rings.
Is there any modification to change this to a spin-on filter? (maybe there is some advantage to this filter but I am more familiar with, and like the ease of the SOF)
Also the ad says it does not include gaskets but there are 2 o-rings in the photo. :notsure:

You'll need this tool or similar to remove the canister cap. Make sure no one over tightens the cap. upload_2020-8-30_18-36-58.jpg

Many of your questions are discussed in more detail on many threads if you get bored. Hopefully this won't turn into another one.

You get new O rings with the new cartridge.....Walmart has them for like $6.00. There is a mod to replace the plastic with a metal cap. You cannot make it like a traditional spin on filter.

If you are going to be doing your own oil changes I would do the following

Cut a door into your factory skid plate or buy the TRD one, it has a door.

    Get a Fumuto drain plug

    all good info!
    oil, filter element, tool ordered.
can the hole in the skid plate be left open or is it ideal to make a door? (don't go off-road much)

Will read the 5 page thread
Till then, where to buy a metal filter cap?

    About the key.
If I could have a plain metal key hidden on the chassis, and if it can open the door I think my problem is solved.
    Possible?

You could leave it open, but any road debris (think pieces of a blown tire) would have a path to components that you may want protected; even if you never leave pavement. The stock skid plate is thin and doesn't provide much protection for off roading anyway, so if you want better protection you may consider an aftermarket or TRD skid plate. They are expensive, but allow easier filter access and better protection. The TRD one looks nice too.

Regarding the key, I don't know if a plain key (read as cheap) is possible. The keys are chipped, but I am unsure if that matters for just the door locks.

Yes, you could lock the keys in if you leave them on the center console and then lock the doors. If you're talking about the automatic door lock after (60 seconds I think?) the engine turns off, that is a setting that can be disabled. It's somewhere in the touchscreen vehicle settings I believe. I don't have that head unit any more so I can't go check it, but I'm fairly sure it's a setting in there you can disable.

I think the other questions have been answered.
