Agreed, but I think they are waiting for a response and gathering the facts, just like the rest of us.
I think I misread your comment the first few times I looked at it. I thought you were suggesting the moderators might be in cahoots with Victory 4x4. I probably shouldn't read this forum after taking a pain killer...

 

Maybe we can get ten pages out of this. If not, we have failed.

 

Check out CBI. They just released a new bumper for the Tundra, and are working on other products for us.

 

I never put much thought into Victory after they had a whole thread asking people what they wanted and basically didn't do any of it. It seemed like it turned more into a thread to put themselves in the spotlight to sell stuff with the disguise of taking our interests into mind.

 

I do appreciate you letting us know there is an issue and providing details and pictures. I now know that before I drill into the roof of any vehicle, I need to check the possibility of collateral damage.

Some companies are't perfect and a flaw was found. They don't respond because then the gang mentality takes over with people trying to bully them into "making it right". Name calling, bitching, whining every time someone has an issue.
It's a small business. Drilling into the safety cage of a vehicle is sketchy at best. If it were me and my truck, I would replace my airbag, make a personal decision regarding using their products again, and move on. Lesson learned.

Yep. I have to agree. Two of the places where they went wrong is claiming it's a safe zone and including the drill bit.
I don't subscribe to this whole "cancel culture" BS either. Usually the people claiming "Cancel Culture" are the same people that want people to boycott everything that doesn't benefit themselves (not saying Shreveport is doing that, I'm just getting tired of hearing it on the news).I do believe that our society is overly litigious and it's gotten way out of control ever since that lady sued McDonalds for her coffee burning her when she dropped it on herself. (This last part of the statement was a misinformed one -thank you @AZBoatHauler for pointing that out) However, this is a company selling an expensive product and making false claims that could and would compromise the safety of your vehicle. Somebody at Victory 4x4 dropped the ball, big time.

 

You hit the nail right on the head; the major problem here is that @Victory4x4 claimed it was a "safe zone", and they provided a drill bit that didn't have a drill stop, and clearly pulls itself much further in that 1/2" as seen on their own instruction video. Honestly, they could have included that drill bit, with the instructions to not exceed 1/2", and NEVER SAY it's in a safe zone - and they'd be in the clear. It's the fact that they said it was in the safe zone that is concerning - because there can be a lot of people out there that installed this, and didn't think twice when the bit pulled in too deep because they were told they were in a "safe zone" - and now they're riding around with damaged, defective airbags. What if that was one of your family members? What if that was one of your children? I'm gonna get myself worked up if I keep going on - but you get my point.

Oh also; @TaquitoBandito - STAY AWAY FROM MY DAMN TAQUITOS!

 

A piece of advice, I’d stay mum on the details about your suit until you can talk to someone to direct you.

 

Sidebar - have you ever seen the photos of those burns? If not, they may change your mind about the merit of that case. They're way too graphic to post here.

@AZBoatHauler I'm glad you mentioned that. Lots of people mention that poor lady and while it sounds absurd to sue over coffee being hot, that coffee was beyond hot. Nobody catches that without hearing the full details.

Side note @TaquitoBandito theres this mexican joint by my house that has a “Taquito Burrito” 2 crispy beef or chicken taquitos inside a 7 layer veggie burrito ( rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes guacamole and sour cream. TO. DIE. FOR!

Maybe off topic, but I think germane to the conversation since it involves roof racks that require drilling. I don’t see a lot of posts (admittedly I really haven’t searched the forum, so Search Nazis flame away ) with Tundra teammates using the Yakima bars, with a basket on top. Requires no drilling or epoxy. Why is that? Because it sits too high? Only supports 165 lbs.? Too expensive?

 

I’m just here for eight pages.
