It seems some people really, really don't like the fake wood grain on the limiteds. I am one of those odd people who love it. I just got back into a 1st gen DC and am looking to add the wood grain interior pieces. Since many seem to dislike it, want to trade or sell yours? Also, in searching salvage yards and ebay for these pieces, I'm starting to think there might be two shades of wood grain in the 1st gen double cabs? It's hard to say given the low quality of the pics. Anyway, if you've got any insight or want to get out of your wood grain, let me know! Thanks!

My truck came w/o wood. I added it using factory parts, but I'm in an access cab so it was only 4 pieces total. DC I think has 6. I think I paid ballpark around $400 w/shipping? Then just had to swap the faceplates on. Door controls took less than 5mins per panel. Cupholder was less than 60seconds for my style of cupholder. Dash panel was the biggest PITA.

Anyway, in order to help, we would need to see which center console you have. There are a couple different center console styles out there. And it's 4x4 right? Front/center dash piece has 3 different varieties also so would need to know if your current one is 2WD, 4WD and 2WD+VSC. Main difference between those three is the plastic tinted cover over the clock - it has different slots in it on the left side (or no slot for 2WD), and that tinted piece can't be swapped/interchanged. And let me tell you: It's a PAIN IN THE ASS to swap the faces out if you go OEM.

EDIT to post center console swap info here -- https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...t-gen-tundra-today.2558/page-702#post-1851043

I saw your post actually and it prompted me to PM Roman for a little assistance. I have tried to find the oem pieces new on the parts diagrams, but cant seem to locate the part numbers for the DCs. After reading your experience, I think I'll try to source a used stereo/climate bezel and get with Roman for new cupholders and switch faceplates. Your truck looks great btw. I've got the dark interior too and I'm thinking of going with mahogany or mahogany/black leather with heat. Thanks for the help!

Assuming all other things being equal (4x2 or 4x4 or 4x4+VSC), are the AC and DC stereo/climate bezels the same for the corresponding years?

No, apparently not. I saw in another thread over here and over here where other forum members' older (2000-2002) truck had a smaller stereo opening. It looks nicer because you don't need to use fillers on left/right of the stereo opening. I also notice in that 1st post I linked, the 4HI button is definitely much wider than mine on the 2000-2002 front bezel.

When I checked the parts catalog, it says compatibility for the front dash part I used (84013-0C310 for 4WD/no VSC) only fits 2003-2006 trucks.

@912 just FYI, the cupholder you need in woodgrain should be 58804-0C051 or 58821-0C070 but the Toyota catalog shows it in a very ambiguous way, the 58804 looks more correct to me, but Roman may have better access to see what each part looks like.

I've got my wood trim pieces on order from Roman. I purchased a few pieces off ebay to determine if there was more than one shade of wood grain, and indeed there is. Thinking it may be TSS vs Limited trims?

There's not. At least not per the Toyota catalog, it's either wood grain or it isn't.

And the answer is ... *drum roll* ... sun faded or oxidized center console! Pretty sure it's what you're seeing here.

BTW I can't wait until my wood parts fade out a little. Color is pretty heavily saturated when new.

That’s what I have seen in the catalogs as well, but if you notice some peoples wood center bezels have the wood grain on the horizontal surfaces below the stereo and some are black. I think it may have been a limited edition dealer install without an official part number. They had similar pieces for the center stack on the third gens. I’ll do a little more digging and see what I can find.

I think what you may be seeing is two different models of truck. I suspect based on the stereo opening the 1st one is a 03-06, the latter pics are a 00-02 with the smaller opening. I could be wrong though.

I can believe maybe the tone changed between the two different interior bezel year ranges. Would be a good way to differentiate, change the part color when you change the year?

Another thing to note: Notice how the 04-06 one (top) is blacked out around the radio opening. Other one isn't. Not the same part, and another reason I think it's an older truck (bottom). Actually, just realized you mentioned this about the bezel, sorry.

Bottom one also has the Auto-LSD ("VSC") button, which is a really rare option. 1st part Roman ordered for me ended up being the VSC-optioned truck part. It's a different part number totally.

Both are double cabs (04-06), judging by the center tray/cupholders ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The latter is a 2004 double cab with auto LSD VSC button is from a member on here. The darker cupholder I posted in my garage above is from another 2005 double cab being parted out in MS. It also had the grey exterior and dark interior. Anyway, I'm sure this mystery will expose itself sooner or later. I'm still pretty sure the darker wood was a regional dealer add-on for a special edition.

It's possible. I forget what the add-on/port company is that covers the SE USA, "Southeast Toyota" or something generic like that? I know they did add-ons/ports for the local dealerships, they dropped a few on our Highlander and my Camry. I don't know where they sourced their parts, I always assumed it was from Toyota.

I would've preferred the darker wood in my truck, to be honest. But I'm cool with what I got!

If you change your mind, there's a full set of the darker wood in MS. https://okautoms.hollanderstores.com/VehiclePartDetail/1897/852896/1/254

Man, there's no way in hell I'm going thru the pain of swapping out my center dash bezel again. I was sweating bullets the whole time. Super easy to assemble, but difficult to take apart once it's assembled. There's no easy way to swap all the buttons and controls and crap.

See post #2 in this thread. Click the link. It's all there. Worst part really, truly is uncapping the buttons without scraping off the tabs which keep them together.

@912 I just noticed your light ring around your ignition works. I don't think I realized there was a light there. I don't think mine has ever worked.

I immediately did a doubletake when I saw bmf's post, it definitely said '07! Besides, your edit and new thread post are back-to-back. And bmf's isn't edited. If this was real court, that'd be enough circumstantial evidence to lock you up!! :D

Got some parts in the mail today from @Roman. @S P A R K Y I’ll hit you up when I get it swapped over. Now that I have the Limited bezel and TSS cupholder next to each other, the difference is obvious.
