I’ve recently noticed something loose on the Front driver side while going over bumps and turning sharp. Went off-road last weekend and it was a lot worse. This is what I found. Is it just a loose boot or CV joint blown out? Any help would be great appreciated.

    Driver side:

Also found some grease leaking from the passenger side UCA. Replace?

There’s grease coming out of the boot. I’m assuming that means a blown seal?

Lol... Just a favorite joke from a friend of mine. Totally stupid.

Edit: To answer your question. As long as that CV is not making a bunch of noise, or has a bunch of slop in it, I would clean it up and try to reclamp that boot back in place and just keep an eye on it.

Same with the ball joints. Just keep an eye on things.

    Made me laugh!

I couldn’t move it much by hand but I can definitely feel something jiggling on bumps at all speeds. I’m gonna reclamp the boot and do as you prescribed. Thanks

The sealing part of the driveshaft is in bad condition, dust proofing leather boot seems normal. find a professional auto repair shop to do it is a good decision, although the cost is high.if you want do it your self, pay attention to the engine oil.

I recommend a steel-toed work boot. Even if someone drive a Tundra car with tires over it, your toes will not be injured.

How many miles on your suspension and truck? How much wheeling do you do?

97k miles on the truck. About 10-15k on the lift and tires. No hardcore wheeling. Just hunting and fishing on ranches in TX and NM

Well that doesn’t seem normal and sorry to learn you are having these issues.

My upper ball joint looked like that for a while. I let it go until it started to “clunck” at full lock during a U-turn.

then I finally installed my SPC control arms I had sitting in the garage for a while

Getting a new axle put in. $618 in parts and labor. Not great news but it isn’t horrible either!
