So I thought I would share some info I received in regards to the purchase of a new tundra, might help out some people looking at buying a tundra. I spoke with a friend that works for a large Toyota dealership, My understanding is that at the moment a lot of dealerships are not discounting crew cab sr5, the reason being is that they lease for super low and they have no reason to discount them. The vehicles that they are discounting are mostly limited, platinum, and higher priced options. Most people are still paying above invoice for these because of the inventory. I guess they are slightly discounting double cab options because they do not lease as well. It seems that a lot of people are leasing these for around 300 a month on a 48-49k tundra. This is probably one reason the inventory is so low on them compared to others. Not sure if this helps anyone out but I thought I would share this info for people searching for a deal on a tundra, I’m sure each region has different prices and discounts. Some dealers are not offering a discount at all, regardless of trim.

Wow! Not my experience at all, but I shopped for a DC. Basically got an SR5 SX package with spray-in liner, power tailgate, and side step (oval tube style).
MSRP of $40,656 and I paid $31,152.78 dealer gouging markup features ($1,894 tint, gps crap, etc) +TTL for $35,500 out the door.

That’s a good price, I wish I was that lucky when shopping for my tundra. Not sure if the dealer made a profit on that deal, it seems like dealers in your area are willing to discount vehicle more than my area. I talked to 12 dealers the last few months and was pretty much told they would not discount the trucks, a few said they will sell at invoice plus rebate but most of those trucks were higher trims that many people did not want.

I think each area is different, some parts of the country people pay over sticker for certain trucks while others pay well under invoice. I also think it depends on the time the purchase was made and the type of vehicle, certain trims are discounted a lot more than others. Last year for example the discounts were well under invoice, now most people that post the prices paid are lucky to get invoice.
