    Hello All,

It appears my AC is blowing oily bits of insulation... I'm at a loss, right now, heading to work when it hit me... For a moment I thought it was elephants flying and shitting all over the place, until I saw one caught on the vent. For now driver side radio vent. Should I take it apart and remove some of this material, or should I be looking at how to replace it??

Same happened in my 2013. Figured it was just a foam gasket that blew loose.

I randomly get small pieces as well. Its sticky if you smash it with your fingers.

This happened on my 2009 about 7-8 years in. I think it's just the foam around the little flap door that shuts off the vent. I never replaced or did any repairs or notice any ill effect (but I usually had all the vents open).

It's not insulation. Just foam gasket like previously mentioned. Happened in my old Tacoma. Kept blowing until there was no more left, then I got my Tundra. lol

Yes, sticky and oily like, left some brown residue on my fingers...

My flaps remain open as well, sometimes my kid closes them out of the blue, buth they're mainly open, I figure as much since this is the first I've seen of it...

LOL, yeah foam, I couldn't think of the correct wording at the moment, but I did mean foam...

Not an issue, other than picking up pieces from time to time.
