Hey all, I was under my dash doing some wiring for my headlights (Halogen to LED upgrade) and upon removal of the underside of the dash, found this little guy just hanging out, unplugged. Can anyone help me identify if this should remain this way or where it should go?

I removed the brake controller and checked it and everything seems good there, but I couldn't find any other place this thing looks like it came from or should be connected.

    Truck is a 2016 SR5 TRD Offroad.

    Thanks in advance.

Any extra plugs behind the dash are for options you don't have on your SR5.
From the pic I'd say either Tow/haul or parking sensors.
There is a socket(?) in the panel you can plug(?) it into instead of having it loose..

I have every single one of them minus power seat memory - I guess that's it?! Maybe it could also be for heated seats... idk.

Nope, no empty sockets and I checked each tow/haul and parking sensor and they are all plugged up. Strange.

Seems like the glass break sensor wires and plug are white and are located under the center of the dash beneath the climate control knobs and above the 12V/aux ports.

Another note, this wire comes out of a set of gathered wires that also feeds to the TPMS reset switch.

I'm not too concerned but will keep it in the back of my head in case anything pops up.

The trucks with push button start have the push button located in that vicinity.

My SR5 uses a key... so that part of the harness wouldnt be used... but is likely to be in all model trucks anyway.

Moot point if you already have pushbutton start. :p

This could be it. I don't think the push to start came out until the 2020 model year though. Could be they updated the wiring in advance before adding it as a feature but that doesn't make much sense to me.

Was talking to my buddy @lamarboards00 who was also just doing some work back there and he said his truck has the same wire too but assumed it was for the factory brake controller which his truck doesn't have.

    The mystery continues...

Factory brake controller could be it also...

That's what I had thought too but I pulled my factory brake controller out and there were no open sockets. Oh well... she still runs.

    I had the wrong panel.
I was thinking it was the panel above the one you are looking at..:(

I don't see that plug in my 2014.

which is odd because that 4-pin connector looks damn the mate to this pigtail.

Another possibility in that area is the "room temperature sensor" for automatic air conditioning.
