I want to replace my rear factory shocks which happen to be the blue and yellow Bilstein stamped with Toyota.

I am not a big off roader but I do plan on getting new coil overs to level the front once my budget allows it. I do occasionally haul loads but nothing everyday.

Would I notice any big difference with the Ranchos or would it not be worth the extra cost in my case?

    Thanks.

IMO I think the Bilsteins are better quality.

New lifted/level coilovers come with provisions to adjust for height. Check out toytec for good options that are pretty budget friendly. They come with all that is needed to lift or level the front end.

Shocks alone, like the ones you mentioned will not lift the truck. The ranchos have adjustable settings to change the ride and firmness but are just shocks and will not lift your truck.

I also would not personally miss match shocks front to rear- I would get a suspension kit where the front and rears are matched for performance and give the desired height or increase in wheel travel.

I have never really gotten into lifts and such so I am kind of a newbie to it. If I go with a strut assembly that has a lift adjustment and I just want to level the front end. I will not need to change any of the other suspension or steering components correct?

Check out toytec. Give them a call and they can set you up with something that is quality, fits your needs and will not break the bank.

If I'm not mistaken, the blue and yellow Bilsteins are the 4600s...they were the stock shocks on my Tundra. I don't know if you can get an adjustable coilover with those to level the front. If it is a product that can be purchased, I have never seen it, at least. I think you'd have to make the jump to 5100s to have a height adjustable coilover, and based on your described usage, they sound about right. They are not very expensive, and utilize your factory coils.

I was originally looking at the 5100's when I saw the Rancho's. The Toytec ones look pretty sweet. I will give them a call like frichco228 suggested and see what they suggest. Even if I have to save up for awhile I might as well do it right the first time.

    Thanks guys.
