I just purchased my 2003 Tundra and now want to do a little customizing, starting with the headlights. Has anyone done any projector-type headlights or something front.jpgelse updated for their 1st gen?

A retrofit would be sweet on a first gen. I would send eldobleu a message and see if he can make it happen.

I ran HID's on my 1st gen and they did pretty good.

Thanks! That's what I'm wanting to do... So you basically had to build them
from scratch or did the whole thing come in a kit?

It comes in a kit. Projectors, ballast, bulbs and so on of course depends on how deep your wallet is.

What I did was buy a new set of headlights (ebay) and put the projectors in them. Keeps the vehicle downtime to just a few hours.

Mine I think I went extreme but I like the end result. I have about 12 hours between painting and assembly and final in it.

The guys over at TRS are the best. I had mine installed what 3 years now and no problems out of any of the stuff I bought from them. Highly recommended them.

I think putting them together like you did is something I can do, I was already thinking the same way
(buying a different set of lights and putting them together) I was also thinking about going with the "blackout" look...
I think it might look good on an all white vehicle... How difficult is it to open the headlight housing?

Easy, use the oven at 250 degrees for about 10 mins on a piece of cardboard. Use gloves and pan head (flat head) screwdriver to separate the lens and housing.. if it's alittle tough put it back in the oven for about 3 mins longer.
