Upgraded Leather on Center Console Armrest

A long story led me to here but here is a nice OEM "Premium" Leather Armrest on a TRD PRO. The Grain is finer on the new armrest but the color matches pretty well.

 

I am not an expert but I think the arm rest is different to not have decay on it from sweat. Regular leather will have discoloration, fading from the salts in your sweat that is why the center console is different material that looks close to leather, less finer but more durable. I do not think I want to do this unless the one I already have on it has gone bad.

 

I ripped the old one, so I needed a replacement.

 

It cones factory on the Platinum and the limited and I haven’t seen posts about abnormal wear and tear

Did you have to call or were you able to order online? Price and part #? I ruined mine by getting in with a lot of bug spray on my arm. Placed elbow on armrest and the deet started to dissolve the material. Yours looks great and would love to replace what I have. Thanks

Is leather or vinyl recommended for this lid?

 

Im getting one made and they upholstery guy gave me an option of either doing leather or vinyl. I asked him which one would be better and he said vinyl but another installer told me leather. So im not sure.

 

I had vinyl and switched to leather. It is much nicer to feel. Might not be as durable.

 

The vinyl tears pretty easily. I was considering having a local leather shop do it. Good to know a vendor carries the upgrade.
