What's the best way to remove badges? I love the look!

 

Heat gun to heat the badge/adhesive off and fishing line in a vertical sawing motion to remove adhesive and badge. Fingers can roll rest of adhesive off and use goo gone to smooth off. Wash with soap and water and then seal/wax after. There are a ton of videos on it. Only thing I have heard but not seen personally is ghosting if you wait too long.

 

Is ghosting the discoloration due to the badge covering original paint? Mine is only 3 weeks old. Is that too long?

 

Yeah. I have HEARD if you wait too long to debadge the color discrepancy between what's under the badge and the rest of the truck differs due to weathering.

Its been incredibly snowy so it stays dirty. I'll snap before and after on Thursday when the lift is installed. I'll be able to get a clean minute before the lift goes on.

What tires and wheels?

 

Not sure yet. I love the SCS SR8 but I'd like to see some good photos of the gunmetal on a white truck. I love the black on white look but I kinda wanna go for a different look. You know anyone with that look? Tires I need something aggressive looking that handles well on snow and ice. I like the TOYO CT due to the sure footed winter driving I do.
I'm open to suggestions as there are a ton of tires out there and this is my first real build

 

I like the gunmetal idea for white.

The ones I looked at before were the black rhinos.



But I know the fuel has a decent pair that has a brownish look to them.

Here is my baby! I've just had it for a week and I've loved every single day I've been with her lol...Can't wait to start modding and making it my own. Any Overlanding kits for Tundras? I have seen plenty for Tacomas and 4Runners but not so much for Tundras.

 

Have billet grille now but new Royalty Core grille getting delivered next week!! -anyone on here have one? I ordered the tighter mesh option so it will hopefully hide the white you can see through grille on our white trucks

 

Powdercoated bumper ends

 

Decided yesterday to try the white plastidip on my grill. The color is slightly off but not much considering I haven't washed my truck in 2 weeks. 4 cans of white about 8 coats and 1 and half cans of gloss.

 

From the photos the color looks pretty close. How close is it really? And, what wheel/tire setup do you have?

 

Was it a pain in the ass to remove the bumper ends? I've been considering going all white with the trd guys but wanted to know how well the powder coating matches the super white..

 

It's not perfect. Probably not noticeable unless someone points it out.

An hour or two should do it. Couple of bolts, nuts and fasteners. The hardest part is trying not to break off the clips on the rear bumper plastic cover. I was already careful but still broke 3 or 4. Overnight epoxy fixed it though.

 

I'm doing this next but I will try vinyl spray from autodip.com to get more gloss.

2016 TSS. I know... Lots of chrome, but I like it. I especially like the rims.
