Hey guys, here is a current code I just used recently. This is a screen shot with the code applied to the 2nd/3rd tundra mevotech/spc arms in the cart.

Sweet deal. I have had the tubular versions of SPCs for both a 100 series and a tacoma. Tacoma had the upgraded joints. On a few forums people were having issues with the welds failing on the SPCs which in turn I think made them come out with the new cast versions. Before they were SPC I believe they were called Light Racing...I'd run the tubular ones again with no hesitation, I never had any issues beating this shit out of them and the adjust-ability was awesome.

Yeah I saw that, I have no doubt that they're spc it's just on their site the pic for one side shows a greasable joint and the one for the other shows non greasable.

Just got a set in today. $426 delivered - they are the old style ball joint. They do come packed with grease so if they last 100K that's a-ok with me.

I guess being re boxed by mevotech they are not really paying attention to the generation of ball joints they are sending. I got grease able joints, you got non grease able and I think another member got one of each

    Help!!!

Im new to this and I’m totally all for saving money but hearing folks getting two different ball joints makes me a little iffy about ordering them. I honestly don’t know if it makes a difference to have one greaseable the other not but would like a matching pair. I went to rock auto just now searched up for a 2010 tundra and based off the pictures, both the left and right UCA ball joints look the same to me. Is it all a gamble on whether what you will get in the end? Can someone help me verify that what is showing on there website is the second gen ball joints for both sides? I added it to the cart and it’s a killer deal, 420 shipped. Thanks and I really appreciate it!! I need to order some soon before my alignment!

Same part numbers I ordered. Both came with older style ball joints. You can purchase the newer ball joints separately if you want to grease them... getting into the price point of just buying new actual branded SPC UCAs right off the bat though.

I hear you for sure! I rather not replace the ball joints if I don’t have to. If I do replace them the at that price point i rather just buy SPC. Okay, so if I’m understanding this correctly, the 2nd gen ball joints require greasing and the 1st gens do not? Just by hearing that I rather have the 1st gen ball joints right, less maintenance?

Going to do it here shortly! I’m glad I found this thread before purchasing SPC, and hopefully I don’t regret it lol.

You will be fine, your truck will not know the difference between the two types of ball joints. I don't think SPC has a great reputation for ball joint longevity anyway, I'd expect to get 60k out of them before having to replace them.

Just do a google search for "spc failed ball joint" and enjoy the read.

Yeah I tried like 5 different addresses here in Colorado each with different cities and no luck. I’m assuming Rockauto won’t ship to Colorado or in the metro area??? I ended up buying and shipping to a California address had to pay an extra 20 bucks but that’s okay. I can get it shipped from there for free, so yeah can’t wait to get them!

There are two versions of the SPC UCA's you can get if you go the Mevotech route. You either get the newest version of the SPC UCA that comes with a zerk style grease fitted ball joint or you get the older style that does not have a zerk fitting for greasing (still has grease in it). You can purchase the newer style ball joints from various retail outlets, think they start at around $140 for the pair. Either way - you are getting SPC UCA's for hundreds less. Cheers!

Got mine today. One is grease-able the other isn't. It doesn’t make sense the vendor feels it’s important for one side to be greased and not the other. What’s odd is the specific side they sent me without a zerk (DS), shows it having a zerk in the photo on their site. The PS pics show no zerk but mine came with a PS zerk. Are the ball joints interchangeable from DS to PS?
I requested an exchange for a part that matches their pictures on their website.
