Wassapppennnin! Good day all. Looking up some procedure on a refill A750F Auto tran in my 05 Tundra. Had a hose to cooler blow off and lost fluid in service. Burnt forward first gear i imagine.
Just reinstalled a used unit from AAA Autosalvage Minnesota http://www.aaaparts.com. Great guys helped me a lot and had good quality stock at a unbeatable price! Thanks fellas (PLUG! )))
I digress... they shipped me a great salvaged A750F tranny and Transfer Case. finalizing fluid and post check
I knew already the WS toyo AT fluid temp and level check rehearsal. I was not quite sure on the proper refill from Dry sump.
Vehicle has been down and part procured since December. looking for a good full new reinstall and refill dry procedure. Double check my memory, I Had the TSB and docs somewhere but Thats where she's at. Anyone on the procedure location or good advice and support? Fixin to fly again!~
    Thanks all and Tundras.com
    Thanks Brad C

Welcome Coonass, from Texas! I have lots of coonass relatives over there in South LA. Can't help with the tranny stuff (insert joke here) but if you're ever needing tires/wheels and are anywhere near Lake Charles, give me a holler - my brother runs a tire shop over there and deals with all kinds of pickups with all kinds of lifts.

Coonass, or Coon-ass is used in reference to a person of Cajun ethnicity. Many consider the term an insult, but others consider it a compliment or badge of honor. Although many Cajuns use the word in regard to themselves, other Cajuns view the term as an ethnic sluragainst the Cajun people, especially when used by non-Cajuns.

South La resident. Familiar with gators, swamps, skeeters and eating crawfish (suck then heads too!) throw some boudin in the mix and you a Cajun!!

Actually it's more of a longtime French lineage from the first French settlers that came here. Eventually evolved into a "cajun French" culture that differentiated themselves by slight language, cultural, and sociological tangents from pure French. That's from what I understand of the history of cajuns. Paw paw was a purebred coonass....he knew his history! LOL

    Yankees are northerners.

Welcome to the boards. I hope you find the information you need here. Like @gosolo and @Law323, I too am La born and bred (Northshore Mandeville) and family all in NOLA, Metairie, and Gonzales. Military relocated me, but La will always be home. Damn, now I need me some crawfish, potatoes, and mini cobs...thanks for bringing that shit up.

Kiss my... hold a sec there before I pass myself here first. God-fearing First!!! Only by his grace!
Pardon, but Kiss my ever-loving Registered Coon Ass! Aiiiieeeee!!! La vas grande Bienvenue mon ami!!! Man This is better welcome than going to the outhouse and got two rolls of new style crappin paper and the Sears catalog still got some lookin pages! Aiieee cest ce bon!
Goodness I feel more welcome than i can say! luvs dat mon chere'... Now to the bad part......
I no sooner hit enter on this thread and bucked up cinched up my bib straps and went get up amongst that stinkn WS oil fillin eye to eye.
    Now see dis,
I could pass back and told ya'll a story or two how all dat happened when done start dis ordeal....
OOhhhh man! When dem Rubber hose bust and passee mais transmission done burnt up C'est va conG@% #pi Fete P(*#u@TA!$#$!n.......welll I better not told dat story again gettin me workd up some kinda bad chere'!
    ))
All that fun and a lil bit more! First thing do not i repeat do not try to do this with it warm already for any reason just saying Start this process With a COLD Engine! may add 30 minutes of the wife looking at you and makin you pick up your oil rags the dog done runoff wit and clean your tools time . ( My suggestion is wash your hands have a smole a drink. Kiss the old gal and pinch her, say some sweeties and you will relish those 30 minutes you were waiting on it to come to temp.!! I promise if you hurry this or try and do it hot forget it. If you hit the over temp mark you will be down for 3 hours or maybe 5 with fans and water hose al you can muster to cool it completely down. All depending on the ambient temp on your locale and how long you decided to whisper in your gals ear....
Thanks again but if I am lying I am dying this is the tricky little redheaded step son of a mangy dog I know deal! It certainly will let you know if you mess up or if your maybe 2 mL fluid level off and temp wrong when you read it!
NOW WAIT! Let it drain to barely coming out proper ..... Ohh and I took a 4 foot level best reference to ground I could get across front bumper and the bed rail to see if I was that close to True Plumb and Tilt...... Trust me it matters!!!
Anyway this has been great and a big boon meeting y'all After the fact. Because I walked out there and hit it First lick! It will not shift right if you miss it by a cup full "I Guaaarawntee!"
I remembered it. Started coming back to me all step by step in my head.. Well I did find a note I had copy pasted and it looked like reading a page of code language or a HTML doc script.
Long story short (Which I aint no good at!) I will give my procedure and a bit of that story when I get a moment later. It really means everything how you work this transmission refill and temp procedure to achieve level ohh and must hold your tongue right... This is helpful if you do a flush on the fly type procedure because guess why you cant fill it right back up and the reason they got that fancy machine. Because by yourself manually flushing from cooler hoses into empty jugs and letting it draw fluid in same. you cant do it in time before Tranny Over-temps and you will never get level right then.
Here's to the Man made the plan Dr. W. A. Bushmaster Esquire aka Wes Arnold ASE. all his hard work swappaa paappa!!
From the moment my guys stabbed it dry now! A salvaged tranny shipped form Minnesota to Louisiana all drained.
Techs did not put a lick of fluid in it and changed Filter by the way but they left it dry and cold for me in the morning.... Wait a minute.... OK i aint even gonna go there .......
    Merci beaucoup mas grande bienvenu!
    Thanks for big welcome!
And I have been joyriding since I typed this welcome thread and didn't even know you guys had my back already!
Now that my friends as I said; is way better than Fresh Rolled Crappin paper in the outhouse!

Pardon did not explain the initial fill i did was to add 4 qts. crank er up rotate engine a bit and cycle through the gears a couple times. That cycle gear thing prolly is horse apples but don't let the pump spin dry and getting it moving makes sense to me.
As I added 6-7 then up to about 8-9 qts (Not knowing how much fluid actually remained in the T.C. and Tranny. It did make the drivetrain buck in as i hit Fwd and Rev instantly. A good feeling to know at least there's some energy going to the wheels.
Once I got close to recommended fluid capacity about 8-10 qts. Turned it all off a minute and I did the ODB jumper wire tranny temp mode enable process.
I believe it's with a nice small piece 3- 4 inches of solid 18-20 ga wire Jump pins 4 and 13 on the ODB connector under steering column.
With truck off Emergency Brake on and all electric and AC stuff all OFF! Insert the jumper, crank up, lights everywhere going crazy on dash.
Then slowly Cycle through from Park down to Drive or Low if you like. pausing a second between each. Then come back up to Neutral
Stop then back down to Drive, then back up N and D and N and D about 3 passes and when you hit Neutral AND THE A T TEMP light flashes on! Then hangs solid for 2 seconds then it goes off.
Then goto Park it will AT light up for 2 seconds and either go out which means its cold or stay on. THE A T TEMP RED LIGHT ON SOLID IN PARK OR NEUTRAL MEANS ITS RIGHT FOR YOU TO PULL 5MM OVERFILL DRAIN PLUG ON TRANNY PAN AND LET IT DRAIN WHILE IDLING UNTIL IT BARELY COMING OUT ON LEVEL GROUND.
Now this is if you filled it more than level which ata cost of a little waste is the way to be slightly over filled. if no fluid comes out when that light finally comes on after idling for 20 minutes maybe. then you need to stop all turn off and add fluid until you think you are slightly over full. at 10 quarts you should be almost at it. Mine dropped back almost 2 quarts to me of new fluid but i had cleaned a new drain pan and saved those 2 quarts after. close it all up check it run it shifts good feels good. now I have 4WD ann the transfer was changed also I had to go back and add that gear oil to transfer but after that first run a bit come back and get under double check all plugs tight and the oil pan bolts are all good and no leaks whatsoever. If you have it hermetically sealed proper and no leaks. You will never have to touch that tranny again most likely in rest of your lifetime.
Word to wise before you mess with that fluid if its not giving problems DO NOT mess with that tranny fluid EVER unless you are at a point like i was 250000 miles and funky smelling or you have a reason SO NOT screw with fluid until tranny is dying on you or a leak has come. That transmission never needs fluid or it to be changed unless it has had a leak ot you caused some fluid to drain or its giving trouble and ou know you have harmed or pushed tranny to it point. if so that tranny needs rebuild replace anyway a fluid change then will only jsut give you some time maybe.
BTW all you fellas knowing home or are from here Happy Mardi Gras! it the weekend to getbend!
    thanks
