I'm not liking the chrome bumpers on my 2014 Tundra and am having trouble getting a color match plastic dip. So I'm thinking of plastic dipping the bumpers in Black to match the center plastic piece on both front and rear. What are people's thought or other suggestions on how it would look or even pics?

I dipped my bumpers to match that plastic piece in the center as well. 3 coats of glossifier after will help. Check out my build page in the 3rd gen build section for all the pictures. My truck is black though, so it may not give you the visual you are looking for.

How many coats of the black plastic dip did you use? Rattle can I assume?

On my last tundra, I dipped the rear and front. I believe it took 7 coats each.
Granted, the front bumper isn't as much chrome on the newer 14 models

I dipped the front and rear bumpers and the emblems black with glossifier. I did 6 coats of black and 3 coats of glossifier. I really like the way it looks now. I used 4 cans of black and 1 can of glossifier.

I'm thinking about doing black plastidip on my bumpers/chrome stuff too. Sure wish I could get my bumpers color matched in white, but that just isn't in the budget.

I also did the grill surround white. @csuviper and I had plast dipped it black, but I changed it to white shortly after.

This is how mine looks after the dipped. I really like it. Way better than the chrome

Thanks for the pics, I really like how the black matches the plastic parts on the bumper already. Did you leave those or dip them as well?

i dipped my bumpers, i never tried to match the truck. i used black. i left all my badges chrome. i even painted the sides of the side steps too. thats the only one im having issues with because of feet rubbing. i did about 3-4 coats. im going to spray over it again. but ive had no issues with my bumpers. holding up great. only thing i have an issue is beacuse i took my flaps off is that some debris will eventually eat at the lip of the inside of it and which is hardly noticable. i just touch it up every now and then.
