Bought my 2019 CM in November of 2019 through a car sales broker. A crapload of guys a work have used him and been very happy. Every vehicle he buys comes with the highest extended warranty the dealer offers at what he says is cost. In this case it is the Toyota Platinum Warranty 8 years 125,000 miles and was $1272. Just to give you an idea of what you should be paying. The best part of this warranty is its 100% transferable to a new owner. Nothing better when selling a vehicle with 100,000 miles that you can guarantee its perfect with this warranty. Bought my wife a POS chevy volt 4 years ago (stop laughing) and they started with 5 years 100,000 miles for over $3000. The longer the negotiation went the price kept coming down. I finally got 5 years 88,000 miles for $850 which really was a ripoff because it only added two years. Being a chevy it ended up being the GREATEST purchase of my life because that s&%tbox was never not at the dealership. I never agreed with extended warranties but now with the price of single parts being so insane one minor repair can cover that warranty instantly. Plus, its a great piece-of-mind feeling that for 8 years you never have a single thought of something going wrong.

UNLESS you are in Florida, where ALL extended warranties are regulated by the state, as they are insurance policies in this state. The prices cannot be discounted, and are the same from dealer to dealer for the same product

My quote is slightly less than yours and I am also in California but no kids on my policy.Screenshot_20200804-185155_GEICO Mobile.jpg

Yeah for whatever reason Geico seem to put the most "at risk" driver to the newest/most expensive car in the policy. Gave him my old 2010 Camry when he started driving about 3 yrs ago yet they still put him as the primary driver on the 2017 Pilot. Bought him a 2019 Civic last year so he's on that. Now I bought a new Tundra and they put him as the primary on the truck. I called Geico and asked them WTF and they said that's their new policy. Got a quote from other insurance providers but Geico is still the cheapest. He just turned 21 couple days ago so gonna ask for a quote if it's cheaper to have his own policy.

Bummer.. hopefully that helps. We have 2 older o es at home 25+ and they are on the wife's policy so no impact on mine.. Geico never told me I had to list them thankfully.
Even being higher in CA it still seems like a worthwhile spend.. I dont think I would do the extended warranty.

Get him married FAST...lol. that usually helps with insurance costs..
