    @Coupe
Put me down for an aluminum brushed finish with no engraving.

I also have a suggestion. What about one that is engraved "Tundras.com" that isn't "custom" and it would apply, and be an option to all members here.

The problem with custom engraving is it is not as easy as typing a different word or phrase. The text on any of these has to be drawn (i.e. there is no standard font available. Usually you are trying to match a logo). Then the text has to be programmed to a machine language. To make this financially feasible you need at least ten (10) people that want the option.

What kind of program and machines are using? Typically at my job we use Corel and we can type it up convert it to curves save it as an EPS or DXF and that works on all of our lasers, water jets, routers etc.

If you need help with this which I'm not sure that you do but if you wanna send me the cut file I can try to manipulate new fonts and things like that to make it work if that's easier.

I run a cad service. We would typically model these in Solidworks. It could also be done in Autocad.

The models are sent to the machine shop. We have a few different shops that we work with.

The machine shop will program in a code that is compatible with what machine they are using. These are usually machined on a 5 axis milling machine.

I have people in house that can handle the drawing/modeling.

The problem is whose is going to buy them. I need at least ten (10) people that are willing to spend the money. Technically, I do not have ten (10) people that want the ones with TRD.

@Tundra2 just get the bare and if you really wanted it, you can pay someone to laser etch or engrave whatever you want on it

The machinist was running late this week.

    Below pics compare to stock.

It will look better when powdercoated.

Flyfisher is going to help me with a test fit. I am going to send the prototype to him for a test fit. Once we get happy with the fit I will make a small run.

I would like everyone that is on the list to post a pic of their current battery hold down and what year their truck is. Seem that late in the run of 1st gen there is a different battery hold down design.

It looks like most of then are straight to the front attachment at the radiator core support. The 2006 double cab is not straight. It is bent upward to make the attachment at the radiator support.

If you look at it from the side, does the top of the battery look flush with the attachment point on the radiator support, or does it look lower?

I believe the Optima battery is shorter than stock, so yours maybe be lower because of the battery height.

That's actually a great point. It comes with a "tray" but since I'm not using a stock mount, I didn't use the tray piece.

I ordered a stock 2006 double cab down to use for dimensions. For yours we will compare the battery height difference of the Optima compared to the upswept model on the 2006.

This is a pic from @flyfisher.
