I am new to the forum, I am getting a 2020 Limited Tundra, should have it in early September. Given the low inventory, had to wait for my dealer to get what I wanted.

I am getting a Silver Sky Limited with the Limited Premium Package which comes with a color keyed rear bumper.

I am pretty much the opposite of everything I read in the forums, I do not like the blacked out look or even painted bumpers. I love the chrome look.

The Limiteds with the premium package come with front chrome bumper caps and a color keyed rear bumper. Don’t know why this package would not have the front and rear bumpers the same.

I would like to change the rear bumper caps to chrome.

Do any other Tundra trims have the chrome bumper in the back with parking sensors?

Would I be better off just removing the ones that come on the truck and have them chrome plated?

I don’t think the BSM system will work with the chrome bumpers. That’s why BSM equipped trucks come with the color keyed rear bumper.

    Yup. You’ll lose your BSM.

Congrats! I love chrome, especially on Silver. I always liked the old gen silver 4runners and Tacomas with chrome bumpers. I think the Tundra is the only one out of the three still available with chrome bumpers.

The reason why there are no chrome with the limited premium is because it comes with blind spot monitoring, and cross traffic alert. If not mistaken, the colored bumpers are plastic to allow the signals to propagate. The chrome bumper ends are metal.

    Well that explains it then.....

Was not aware that the bumper was plastic.

I guess if I want the bumpers the same, I will be painting the front. But then the grill is chrome. Not sure how that would look.

I wonder if there is a chrome look wrap that I could apply to the rear and still have the BSM function?

I think it will look nice as is. You'll enjoy it. I don't think painting a brand new truck is a good idea, won't be a good match. You can always get the painted covers that go over the bumper ends, so it can also be removed and replace the grill with a Silver Sky Platinum edition Grille.

My first post here, I’ll second your opinion about chrome rear bumpers vice painted; I see earlier year tundra parts or chrome rear bumpers pre-drilled with “sensor holes” and wonder if these are for this use - if so, anyone out there know if these are available for the 2020’s?
    Thanks in advance!

The holes your taking about are for the parking sensors. The BSM is located behind the plastic cap and "radiates" out threw it.
