That's really personal preference. Doesn't have to be an all or nothing either. For example, I will be taking the 5.7 and 4x4 badges off the truck, but I am replacing the Tundra door badges with the black ones from a Pro. Then I'll add the black letters for the tail gate. It'll be a partial de-badge and blackout kind of deal. Also going to remove the bed side stickers.

    Good thoughts.

I suppose reselling is my only consideration in retaining the badges but I can also re-badge if I decide to sell. Judging by how long I keep my cars, I bought a 2000 Tundra back in 2000 and just got rid of it after scooping this 2020, re-badging isn't an issue. Full de-badge is on-deck.

Now for the chrome door handle.....

Yes. So glad I finally got mine done. Much cleaner look and was easier to maintain.

I see far too many vehicles on the road missing a letter or two or rust forming under it

My wife saw the TRD stickers the other day and she said "man those things are hideous".

Personal preference and I am not for or against them, it was just funny to hear her weigh in on her own, out of the blue. I guess all my truck talk is wearing off on her. She's not a truck or car person by any means.

I was totally prepared for de-badge when I was shopping for mine. But after I got it, I really like it as is sits, chrome and all. That's right... I said it. I like the chrome badges. I kept the TRD bed stickers too, because I've spent so much money making other parts say TRD, I felt like that was counter productive LOL.

I didn't even know about debadging or black overlays etc until I started reading the forums.

Now I'm photoshopping chrome out on my phone and sending them to one our kids who's a car and truck got and always wants to mod it. It makes it easier to convince mom when it's something we can do together. ;)

Here is one with my sidebars and grill surround/bumber ends blacked out in Google photos done half-assed. He said "send that to mom, maybe she will say yes, it looks so much better".

I’m surprised they don’t sell with a badge that says “Cavalry Blue” badge for full disclosure.

    =P

    Edit: misspelled Cavalry

Let me know if you're interested in the following parts:

Chrome trim pieces (used): mirror caps, hood bulge, grill surround (all clips intact), bumper caps
    ...from a 2020 Limited

Honeycomb grill insert (new), like new, grill surround removed.

2020 Limited factory fogs with bezels (used)

It took a visionary to allow his user base to express themselves HOWEVER they saw fit. From infinite, mostly hideous, page design themes and even playlists, MySpace was, truly, a cutting edge platform. This visionary also never took the liberty of selling out his entire user base to any other entities either. Once MySpace blew its load we were all forced to that banal, insidious shit show that is Zuckerbot’s Facepage.

This forum is the only social media I have. The other stuff is just too shallow. And I don't get spammed with requests for crappy farm games here.

Project blackout bumper caps is underway

Even after 2 coats it looks better. Final pics to be posted when done

    Masked off:
    IMG_20200803_121722.jpg

I'm going light coats, as many as the can will allow for the two back caps. Probably 5-6 coats by my estimation

Done. The final coat is still drying, but thought I'd post a pic anyways

I'm happy with the result. Hopefully it lasts a while.

There is no denying the Cavalry Blue looks great with Black accents

    IMG_20200803_140954~2.jpg

Front caps next week. Then hopefully grill surround and bulge before fall.

6 coats. And then peeled the tape off as it was still wet after the final one. I figured that was enough.

One can for the rear. I'm hoping one can for the front. It's $15 a can up here.
