Awesome. So the custom features are all available? Direct shift and gear lock?

Is this going to be the last revision we get? With all the features and adjustments we've requested in previous zendesk emails like tire size calibration or map switching?

So it sounds to me like Direct Shift will make it a true manual. So for example, I have an AMG with 9 speed dual clutch transmission. When I put it in manual and use the steering paddles to shift, it will shift into whatever gear I want and it doesnt matter what I do with the throttle. I can bog it down full throttle at low RPMs or I can redline it until it bangs off the limiter.

Is that how Direct Shift will work?

You got it. Gives you control over your transmission.

I'd like to hear from Mat about this since this is very confusing.

I have some friends who think it will still downshift based on his earlier descriptions.

If it truly stays in whatever gear you select, then how is it different from Gearlock? (question for Mat)

If you want it to be like your AMG, you need both gearlock and direct shift. Direct shift to change gear when you shift, gearlock to hold the selected gear. simple

Not sure why you'd think that. I requested both, as have several other people on this thread. I've never seen Mat say it was one or the other.

Well I requested both. Not sure why you think it would be both on the same tune. I'm expecting two different tunes

I thought you were talking about both on the same tune because you said "sounds like both on the same tune is not an option".

The two features work together to give you maximum control over the transmission. That's the whole point.

well if thats true, that would be great. One tune, put it in S mode, it shifts to whatever gear you select and it stays in that gear no matter what.

It would be super cool if Mat would just come out and say, "yes. thats how it works"

That is the plan, yes and what I am working on right now.

Just to let you guys know, I won't be able to get EVERYONEs file to them today. I have to account for all logs, requests, and make those adjustments + the features on top into a new file.

that's 100% how it works yes.

I have your file ready to go, emailing it to you in 15, so test it out and you'll see !

Mat what other features will be included in these updates besides the gearlock and direct shift? Or is it more less implementing all the latest refinements to the overall tune?

I don't think so? I have a ticket that's my previous tune iterations but it's not like I'm waiting to hear back or it's "active". And since he's saying he's releasing tunes for XXXX ECU every couple hours that's why I wasn't sure if I should ping him or just wait a few days.

As I understand it, Mat was going to email those with open tickets. I suppose that you could still email him to see what he says and maybe he'll add you to the list, what's one more email among the thousands they get? lol As usual, include you ticket number and probably your ECU version in the subject line to increase efficiency. It looks to me like all the ECUs that he's listed at this time are N/A tunes. It may be some time before he's able to get to S/C tunes like ours. The list so far looks alphabetical as well, so that may give a hint as to order/timeline.

More files are being released today, and we expect vF Tuner to have 07-17 support for Tundras by mid august.

Then, anyone who wants vF Tuner + our tunes, are welcome to. (all years 07-19)
