Love that rocker-box on the passenger side. Love when the sides of the bed are put to use by the manufacturer.

Just asking to make sure, but does the intake air (to our airfilter/box) come from behind the Pass Side Quarter Panel?

Anyone have a pic of this with the quarter panel off?

 

I belive it’s basically right where the air box is, that lil duct just goes thru and then open to your fender well. Basically right about your tire; what are you brainstorming today?

 

I’ve always been curious of the set up, but forget to ask here. I remember seeing someone with their quarter panel off, but they had removed the air piping so I wasn’t able to see the full set up.

I’m running out of stuff to do and might take that quarter panel off to tighten my original extended super long OEM Antennae while in there. I can tighten up those 2 door hinge bolts with the panel off, as well.

I’d be stoked to see pics if anyone has them.

 

You should be able to get to the antenna by removing the fender liner. I put a snorkel on the 4runner, and you mainly just need to remove the liner, to get access to that area.

I will still try the connectors from earlier link. I just wanted to know if this was possible if the connectors don't work for some reason.

You should use what you have done at this point. Maybe slip some shrink wrap over the assy and shrink the wrap over the wires and onto the tips of the LEDs by about 1/2”. Squeeze a little Fuzeit in the ends prior to shranking for a pro type seal job.

It's never too late! Stock available on the 1st gen remains pretty high, several under 150k miles, it's not uncommon to find trucks under 100K still. It's not hard to find a clean truck in the color of your choice. Most people I've seen post on here hunting or showing interest in buying find exactly or damn close to what hey want within 4-12 weeks of casual hunting.

Nice! I love the curved windshield ones but my pops would never let me get one. "Break down all the time. I'm not going to waste every other weekend helping you fix the little motor in that thing!"

 

This rolled through my feed today from last October, I think. CEL came on 11 miles before this at 66655. Ended up being one of the rear O² failed. Easy enough fix.

Curved windshield are the Super Beetles, they're a bit odd. This is a standard beetle, flat windshield but might look curved from the roll bars inside.

My toggle switch came in today along with the moisture/dust boot. After some review reading, and some thinking. Although, it would be cool to have a tilt switch. I decided it would be best to use a simple on/off toggle.

 

Not feasible or financially responsible. My luck with used vehicles has been awful, so I'm going to stick with my current truck. Appreciate you both totally being all though. Keeps it true to the heart of this forum; making me spend money!

Anyone use 303 for there tires? My ko2s looking thirsty and its kinda hard rubbing in it with a rage. Should I just spray it on heavy and wipe it away? maybe tape rims off or is that not necessary?

 

Not familiar with 303 but I use this and it's great. You want something that's not oil based. It dries out the tires.

Friend of mine had a '72 SB when we were both in high school. I coveted it. Helped him build out the system in it. The shell of the Bug is made for bass. I put a single 12 in a custom enclosure that fit the rear perfectly while keeping plenty of space and it SLAMMED.

Maybe some day I'll pick up one to tinker.
