Alrighty everyone, trying to get an idea of all I need to get to lift my truck 3-4 inches. What else would I need to buy other then the upper control arms that I am shopping around for and most likely going king shocks. Would like info on backspacing needed on my rims that I'm choosing and how I'd figure out what I'd need. May be doing a body mount chop but still not sure about grinding a nice truck up. I don't drive much but live 10 mins from some decent desert off road trails and close to the eastern sierra mountains. I'd like to keep it driveable to work every day and to be able to tow my toys still. Just wondering if any other part of the truck needs mods like brake line extensions or anything of that matter for drivelines front and rear?

Icon stage 5 pulled the trigger, love it

    Function before sparkle.
A diff drop kit is a recommended addition but extended brake lines shouldn’t be necessary.

I think reputable lift kits have recommended offsets/backspacing numbers. That s the route I took. If you are going to make your own lift then good luck.

That’s the diff drop I ordered. I also went King 2.5 Coilovers with resi’s front/rear, Camburg ball joint UCAs with Camburg shackles for the rear. I went with the Method 701 trail series rims, with Toyo open country M/Ts 315 70R17. I just got UCAs yesterday, shackles come today. Will be waiting who knows how long on the rest due to Covid bs.

Haven't gotten tires yet, not sure what I can fit with the front end lift. Currently I have 275 55R 20 black rhino wheels. Would like to keep my rims and turn radius, rear end of the kit is coming hopefully soon.

It did not come with one, it's an SR5 and I bought it used. I don't believe the SR5 comes with one without the original owner upgrading to it

Ahh I was meaning TRD upgraded sway bars, I had a shop put the lift on and didn't tell them to take it off, what would the benefits be to upgrade to the TRD or take it off? I don't do much off roading and don't drive far for mywmy commute. Planning on towing a toy hauler soon and have bags in the rear

Anyone have insight on what the typical setup is on the preload to correct tundra lean? I’ve heard 12 threads on driver, which I’m assuming is the one king has labeled left, and the passenger to have 8 threads. I’m still waiting on rears to get here and figured I would go ahead and have the fronts set so I’m ready to put everything on without having to adjust after the install.

Put in work yesterday. Was an all day job, basically. The passenger lower leaf bushing put up a hell of a fight. Ended up having to put the torch and a saws all to it, to get it out. Eventually did and the rest went rather smooth honestly. Just have to get it aligned tomorrow And possibly trim some plastic where it rubs. Loving the stance and look of it though.

    Looks great!

Did you have to do any chopping on the body mount to get those tires to fit?

No BMC, had to trim some plastic on the backside of the wheel well and will have to put some heat on the front plastic and try to push it forward. I have about 3/16” of clearance from the body mount currently. Getting it aligned and I’ll see where I am then.
