Based on the size of a truck toolbox I can verify that the 3rd gen is 4 inches wider than a 1st gen ;)

Most on here use Toyota of Cool Springs or Sparks Parts.

Yes, Cameron has it right … it's been so long ago now that I don't remember who I ordered it from though.

Greetings all, just picked up a 2020 Limited TRD Off Road in Silver Sky... great looking trucks on this thread and lots of good ideas!
Can't wait to get things started on making this truck my own.

I have less than 100 miles on it so just getting started but I pose this question to you all...

Should I start with cosmetics by doing a color matched grill surround, snout and mirror caps or should I start with a leveling kit, specifically the Bilstein 6112 strut kit?
I don't really plan on doing wheels/tires for a while since the stock wheels are fine and the tires are brand new, but everything I've read about the Bilstein kit says it will make the truck handle and ride better, which is good news.

On the other hand, if I'm not planning to do wheels and tires for a while, would it be better to do some cosmetics for now and do all the suspension and ride stuff later, and do it all together?

I could go either way, just trying to decide if should go aesthetics or suspension first.

What do ya'll think about one over the other?

Welcome from middle TN! I'd focus on asthetics first then when your tires get worn out change the suspension and tires together

Congrats on your truck! I went with suspension first. The factory rake and stance bothered me more than the chrome on my 1794. For some reason I had an easier time deciding to replace perfectly good wheels and tires and doing a body mount chop versus replacing the cosmetic stuff.

Welcome to the forum and to our color thread! As for mods … I went with the cosmetics stuff first. The grill, tint and lighting made a big difference at low cost for the most part.

Thanks for the insight. I have an appointment for tint on Friday and I'm about to order the grill stuff and mirror caps here shortly.
Once that comes in and I have the appearance sorted out I will probably pull the trigger on the Bilstein kit in the next couple of weeks.
Saw a buddy's truck today on stock wheels and tires with a level kit and even without the bigger tires it looks a whole lot better.
I can then roll on the stockers until its time for wheels and tires, which knowing me when I get the mod bug will come sooner rather than later. I'll be sure to attach pics at each stage. Some of the pics in here have me wanting to do a whole lot more, but I promised myself I wouldn't go overboard with this truck like I have in the past. Haha, we'll see how long that lasts.

Nice, I’ve been tossing the idea of buying a trailer to the wife. How long is your Oliver Legacy Elite II?

23’6” long. You can only order/purchase factory direct in Hohenwald Tenn. These TT are not mass produced.

Hey guys. New to the forum but not the Tundra. Just bought my 4th one this past Monday. It's at the shop now for the level/lift, wheel/tire and tint upgrades. Hope to post pictures by next weekend.

Quick question - Where is the best place to get fender flares already painted? Been reading about them but not real sure if any of them come pre-painted. Thanks for your help!

Thanks TNTundra16. Yea those and the Bushwhackers were the first ones I looked at. Thanks for the welcome Dave. I'm actually taking some cues from your truck/build to determine what I like and don't like. That said how to you like your Undercover Flex? I'm trying to decide if I like that one or if the Ultra Flex is worth the extra cash. Main wants are as low a profile as I can get and as much security as one could reasonably want. I mean if someone really wants in they'll get in right? lol Thanks again guys

Interesting. So they're basically identical but the ones on the Bushwacker site cost $200+ more than Sparks? lol!

Love the quote in your signature line!

Well I’m honored that you have even considered taking some cues from my build. Hopefully there’s more too like than dislike ... :fingerscrossed:

As for my Undercover Flex, I’ve never had any negative things to say about it. It’s been on now for roughly 4 years and still keeps water out of the bed. The badging on it has started to bubble slightly ... but overall, I’m pleased with it. As for security ... you said it, if someone wants in they’ll get in. The biggest advantage is that no one can just look into your bed and see what’s in there.

Regarding Bushwacker flares ... I got lucky and found mine new and painted for $300 without the hardware which cost me under $60.
