So just trying to decide what to do. The stock Michelin 275x65x18. These tires have 1000 miles on them. To me the tires do not look like an off road tire. I went to Discount tire they offered me $400 for them. Seems I could get more. How many people just leave on these tires for 3-4 yrs or do you sell them locally somewhere else for more?

    $400 isn’t a bad offer.

Some folks run with the OEM tires until they wear out and some take them off right away. My local Craigslist always has a set or two with rims. $400 offer isn't that bad at all.

I have a set that I would be thrilled to get $400 for!

I got $200 for my stock set of tires w about 1500 miles on them. And they actually did pretty good in snow.

I got $300 for mine with 1,000 miles from a PP. I put 285/70/18 Ridge Grapplers on from Discount about a year ago right before the TSS recall came out. The dealer would not perform the recall because I had oversized tires.

That’s funny. I had a15 silverado that had fuel pump a transmission issues at 6500 miles. Service guy tried to tell me it was because I put aftermarket rims and tires on it. Started yelling at him about his stupidity, they bought the truck back 3 months later and now I’m the happy owner of a Tundra. Call the service writers on their BS. Most of them, in my experience, are customer service savvy, don’t know how to turn a wrench.

$400 seems like a decent offer.

They may be worth more but very hard to actually get more for them. That is a fair offer.

Location is Conroe, TX and yes they are, they drive really smooth but for a pro just look more tame and better suited for the street.

Great tires, I recently put them on my 2007... looking for one locally to use as my spare.

I just recently bought a set of stock Michelins off Craigslist. After a decade of running bfg at’s to look better on the truck, ive admitted to myself that I’m tired of how awful the ride on the street. We don’t have much mud here in so cal so the Michelins should be fine

The LTX tires look super wimpy looking, no doubt. They don't give the Pro or OR trucks an aggressive look. A nice set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers or Duratracs would look great stock. However, they are actually pretty great tires for sure, pretty good in the snow and rain, and wear well. This is a set of tires I am going to use and buy something new once they wear out. The tires on the tacoma Pro and OR leave a bit to be desired in terms of form and function. Obviously, somebody using their trucks OR most of the time, and mudding, deep sand etc would need something different. I think for most, the truck leaves the tarmac about 5-10% of the time, so something that works well while maintains good wear and efficiency is the goal. This checks those boxes.

1E65142D-D747-4844-8186-9427CE334913.jpg I just got the truck and immediately traded in the stock tires at Discount Tire. They gave me $500 for the Michelins with 1000 miles on them. Went with Trail Grappler G2s in 285/65-18.

Certainly gives the truck a more aggressive look.

Thanks everyone for your pics and input, yeah still on fence but may have to do it, it's either now or wait 3-4 yrs.

Mine came with the crappy 2557018 Dueler HT 684-2’s (had the base steel wheels). Sold them on FB marketplace for 375, put a set of 2755520 terra grappler G2’s on with rims... best part was my cost on the Nittos was only 410 for the set (employee discount, I’m in the tire business)

try craigslist, but I think 400 is a very good offer. I bought factory LTX AT2’s with 5k on them mounted on pristine TRD wheels for $500. I have been trying to sell my stock 255’s for 300 on craigslist and no takers.

Ran mine into the ground. They gave up around 45k. Replaced with BFG AT. Same size.

Thanks everyone I sold them to Discount for the $400 and got the 285 65 18. Look so much better glad I didn’t live with the Michelin’s for 4 yrs.96798E1A-7963-49DA-8C1B-D7EBFEAB6E83.jpg

I ran the factory Bridgestones until they were bald enough to not be legal to drive on. It only took about 16k miles to do it and I had the alignment checked every 5k rotation + an additional time at the dealer (but it never needed an adjustment during that time).

You may not have long to wait to change them anyways o_O

They're awesome up where the snow flies. The alloy ones get white crusties spreading through the paint after a couple years. Steelies get a little wire brushing and touching up and look as good as new.
