The Geo Pro 20BHS we were looking at is only about $3000 less but is single axle and can only carry 900lbs. The Winnie is a tandem and can carry up to 3000lbs.....no I will never put that much in it but I could.

I just saw the new rpod 202 I believe is the model and it is a tandem axle. Queen size walk around bed... it’s nice I want to find a place that has 1 so I can see it in person.

I’m not a fan of the walk thru bathroom. We had a split bathroom in our motor home and I hated it.
I do like the rear kitchen. I really like trailers with the rear u-shaped dinettes but finding one of those under 25’ is hard.
I really want to stay closer to 20-22’ no longer and this food is 25’.

My wife likes it bc it has dinette, bathroom gives privacy for the bedroom, and queen bed has partial walk around. Not to mention it’s pretty light and tandem axle. I still like grand design but idk. Still have research to do

For me it was pretty simple. When I finally found one that my wife liked and the truck could pull, I bought it.

Got a call from my buddy on Friday morning, I drove 600 miles to Colorado, met him at the airport (he flew in from Florida) Saturday morning, we went and picked up this Ultra4 and trailer for him, and drove back to Utah last night. I've wanted to get an enclosed for awhile, this is 24ft, and I can say I'll need a 3/4 or 1 ton if I ever buy something this big. I didn't necessarily have any issues, but steep hills were brutally slow, gas mileage was horrible, brakes were at their limit, and we hit 3 storms and I don't think it was even that windy but I could not go over 60mph for fear of being blown off the road. Could the tundra tow it? Sure, but it was at it's limit in every possible way. Luckily I won't be the one towing it to Florida this week though :D

With something that size you shouldn't be towing over 60 anyway. 99% of the within limit towing issues people seem to complain about is that they have to go slower. Absolutely boggles my mind. Lighter stuff can be towed faster, but you'll pay at the pump. Bigger stuff you'll be white knuckle driving if you push hard. Leave early and slow down. Is it really so terrible to tow at 60?

My parents in law found that their U dinette only seats 3 comfortably. The style with a bench on each side is better for 4 people to eat or play cards.

Going slow is the least of my concerns, I'm well aware of the trucks limits and aren't making excuses for them. I was curious how it'd handle a trailer that big, and I wasn't comfortable with it.

A good WDH would help with stabilizing in the wind and if you are using the factory integrated brake controller they are notorious for NOT providing desired performance, plug and play options are available to replace it, I got the Tekonsha P3 with harness and mounting bracket that locates it where the factory one is in the dash all for around $140 works great.
An enclosed trailer that size 24’ should tow no problem just depends on what your cargo load is at and tongue weight which the WHD will help with also.

Maybe it was just the trailer setup, no WDH but I do have a P3. My 24ft travel trailer with WDH and both axles braked tows like a dream, but also weighs about the same as just the buggy.

That's all good. First two things for disqualifying a load for towing; driver's comfort towing it, and the vehicles limits.

At least you're willing to say you're not ok with it and move on. Lots of dummys fall into the trend of having to be macho before being safe.

Did you get it weighed? Curious as to what your GVW was and the trailer weight.

I agree. I just towed a 6600 lb 22ft enclosed trailer with an E2 WDH and a P3 trailer brake controller. Yes, gas mileage sucked at around 8 mpg. Drove around 60-65mph most of the way. Had a few slightly unsettling moments but overall was an uneventful trip. Definitely had me thinking about 3/4 ton trucks a lot. If i towed this trailer a lot I would think about stepping up. For occasional use I think my Tundra is fine. Like others have said, keep the speed down

I did not, the guy we picked it up from said he thought the buggy was 4500 and trailer was 2400, I don't know if those are correct but with tires and parts that'd put it around 8000lbs. My 18ft flatbed is 2500, but the wind resistance and lack of the WDH made a big difference (assuming the trailer weighed what dude claimed).

I've wanted to get an enclosed for my personal buggy, and ideally my canam too (which I doubt both together would ever be conceivable with the tundra), so this was kind of a test drive. Would be interested to tow one with the WDH and see how it felt.

Was possible that you were a little over loaded. At only 6600lb trailer weight I was right at 7200 lbs GVW with the setup in my post above.

To your credit. I also probably would have been uncomfortable towing that without a WDH.

Heres a few pictures of my setup, Jayco white hawk 24MBH. I already posted it earlier in this thread when we first got it about 2 months ago, but we have taken it out I think 4 times since then still with no issues, I have been towing it without a WDH as it rides really nice without (and UPS lost the one I ordered while shipping it and never received it...) I will probably still get the same one I ordered in the future (Husky Centerline TS) for any long hauls but happy how it tows for now!BE0C7F76-BE54-47B6-AA6E-24E155C75373.jpg 3B93F5BB-09FF-4DC3-B39C-6A27421BFEB7.jpg 6014055E-F432-4B20-87A0-629460A4D95F.jpg
