My trailer is 24feet 4000lbs dry, with bunks for the kids. I have a Murphy bed lol. Murphy bed are awesome imo lol turns into a couch for more room. No slide though since we camp we are always outside.

Knock on wood, I have yet to have a problem with either of my slides. We tend to be outside the trailer most of the time but even with that being said I would never buy a trailer without slides. I really don't like longer trailers as they can be a pain to fit in some spots, but I also don't like feeling cramped inside the trailer. Having the slides gives us my wife's favorite part of our trailer, the kitchen island, something that hardly any 22-24' trailer has.

Happy wife, happy life. If you keep up the maintenance on the slides and seals then you should get years with no issues, but I know me and I go for easy maintenance. Also, being terminally single I have absolute say over what does and does not need to be in it. I just prefer how much easier a smaller trailer is to get moved around.

If you want bunks with a Grand Design i believe the smallest is the 2400BH. I really like our 2800BH.

If you get the Grand Design be sure to add a flip latch to the sliding bedroom door to secure it. The factory strap that snaps on didn’t hold in our 2800BH and did some damage. Overall very happy with GD.

Just got back from first real tow with our new Tundra.

Coming from a 2005 Sienna, it was sweet. It was like I wasn't even towing. I was passing cars, no high engine revs up hills, no issues at all.

We looked at those and like them too. Unfortunately they sell before we can buy it.

I'm also shooting for something closer to 20' also. My current focus is the Micro Winnie 2100BH. Like that it is light but can be loaded a lot and keep the weight out of the truck. If I can keep my tongue weight under or around 600 I will have about 300lbs left over after myself, wife and dog get in the truck and still be under my payload. I'm sure I can push the payload a small amount if needed but I think I will be good.

Have you reached out to dealer and asked them to order one and of course settle on price before ordering.

What you can do is just load it appropriately. Keep heaviest stuff over axles and try to load from back to front. Doing that will help keep yongueweight down

In the process of picking up a 2018 Grey Wolf 26DJSE from my dad. Pulled it today to get inspected and registration renewed. Truck did fine. I haven't set up the WDH or sway bars yet. No brake controller yet. Just a short trip to the station today. I wouldn't take it on a real trip like that, but overall I was pleased with how the truck did. Transmission temps peaked at 210°F (max speed 55 mph and town driving). No cooler on my 4.6L.

Once you get a weight distribution hitch on there it will ride more level. If not airlift airbags are on sale for $289

I am with you AzureNightmare - small trailer, only need to sleep, easy to care for, easy to store - only a queen bed on wheels. Easy to pull (or push around by self) with the old Tundra. By the way AzureNightmare this was the Big Horns ten days ago.

My wife has to have a bathroom or I'd buy a tiny sleeping one too. Camping to me is being outside, rain or shine, bugs or no bugs.

I'd love a little A-frame once the kids are out on their own. The bigger the trailer, the more junk you pack and less likely you are to enjoy the fresh air.

Thanks for the hat tip. The truck only squatted 1" in the rear. I may be able to take that out with the WDH. We'll see. But glad to know about the airbags.

I went through the same with my wife. As stated earlier, look at the Grand Design XLS line. My wife loves our 22RBE and it's only 22' and about 5k lbs and a hitch weight the Tundra CM can handle.

That is a real nice trailer but it is almost 26’ long not 22. I’m looking for under 22 from hitch to bumper.

Those are nice but, if I recall correctly, you pay a lot for the Winnebago name.
