Was going to say you might want to think about a footing of some sort for those posts. Bummer you had to go back and add the footing but at least you got it out of the way and you'll be glad you did it in the long run

Drumming up if I wanna build a little shed to replace my crappy tiny shed and little POS lean-to I have on the side of my house. My side yard has a weird angle though. If I built a 7x13 I would still have almost 9ft wide Incase I needed to drive a machine to the backyard so I SHOULD be ok....

Speaking of sheds I don't think I've ever shared my $1800 20x24. Final thing that wasn't in the pictures is green metal roofing to match the house. Been up for 5 years now.
The pallets are linked together with 2x4s and lag bolted the two "courses". Rafters are carriage bolted and hurricane ties at the walls.

As someone also from AZ I am still amazed that pine trees grow in Phoenix, it makes no sense

It is odd as hell, but they grow well and are awesome trees. Although I think I see more here in Tucson than Phoenix, could be wrong though.

Fortunately we get a shit ton of pallets at work so I can pick out the best of them.

Bad part is I should've made it bigger since I'm almost out of room. 40x80 pole barn is on the list one of these days.

Anyone have any advice on how the water feature liner should work with the patio?
There will be big boulders holding in place all over the feature, including next to the patio - but not sure if I should leave some dirt next to the patio edge line, or put the liner right up next to it.
Should I bolt the liner to the patio so it won’t drop down under it?
I don’t think the water level will ever be that high, but in the case of a large rain or something?

Nothing huge or awesome but something aesthetically pleasing that I did. I bought a tv stand from Costco on Sunday and put it together. Problem is there is no backing, so you can see all the cables. Gratuitous close up of Scarlett Johansson

So yesterday at work I had my apprentice cut out some flat stock aluminum. He’s new and needed practice with some tools. When I got home I mocked it into place and marked where some holes needed to be. Drilled them out and painted them flat black. Put them on today and I looks much better.

Kept debating whether to use big black zip ties around the tree or just use a couple screws to mount lights on the tree. Ended up using some small (3” lol) screws. Hope the tree huggers don’t hang me for it. More importantly I hope they look good at night and are able to glean some sunlight being on the north side of the tree.

I’ll have to update with a night time picture to see how it turned out.

I'm trying to install a grab bar in a shower. Any tricks for finding studs in a shower stall wall with floor to ceiling tile? I have a stud finder but no luck penetrating the tile and concrete backing.

I would find a stud in the drywall outside the shower and measure it out from there.
Or drill through and use one of these:

Thank you. Hollow wall anchor is my fallback. I'd rather not drill that big of a hole in the tile if avoidable. I'm embarrassed I didn't think of looking for the stud in the other side of the wall :anonymous:

So outside the shower, the stud is 17" from the corner. Inside shower, the wall thickness will be 4 1/2" so the stud will be at 12 1/2" from the inside shower corner is what I'm thinking.
