I know. I'll try to not be the new guy here asking old questions. Just searched and there are 400 headlight threads. I'm sure this question isn't new but didn't find the answer yet.

One headlight housing has been replaced but isn't nearly fresh. The other is original and is faded badly. I am willing to save a buck if on the non-adjustable headlights if they will fit. I want to replace both.

Will the non-adjustable type replace my 2012 Platinum adjustable ones if I don't care about the adjustment? I do not tow.

I'm pretty sure they will work, you may have an extra pigtail handing, if it has a connection. If that's the case i would cover any open circuit/wire/connector with electrical tape.

I've got the same question. I just purchased a 2010 Tundra Sr5 and it has the headlight adjuster wheel on the dash. The headlight assembly is very yellowed and cracked and I am wondering if I replace them with non-adjustable headlight assemblies will it throw a code if I don't connect the adjuster wiring? This is a part time driver for when I need to do things around my house or haul large things occasionally.

Just unplug the harness to the leveling motor now and see if it will throw a code. I doubt it will.
    It's just a little motor.

It won’t throw a code. My passenger side was unplugged for about a year and no issues.

as for aftermarket headlights: they may not last as long as factory and will yellow quicker.

I feel like the best solution is to refinish factory headlights and seal them with automotive clear coat.

most of the threads I’ve seen, people refinish headlights but don’t seal them, so they yellow in a couple of months and then have to be refinished again. If you seal them after refinishing, you can buy several more years. I’ve recently replied to a thread with photos of my finished product after refinishing and sealing them with SprayMax clear coat kit. They look almost new.

I use plastic X on my old car. Just scrub it on and off, then it looks like new. Then redo it when it yellows again after a month or two.

My current OEM housings have several spider cracks in the plastic and I’m afraid any chemical or sanding will further destroy the housing. This is just a part time driver for when I need to go haul anything for our house, so I’m not as concerned about it looking pristine, but I need to be able to drive it at night when needed.

I already have to replace one of the low beam bulbs as it went out. It’s some brand I’ve never heard of, so I’m assuming it’s the OEM one. The other bulb is a Sylvania with two blue lines on the bulb and it’s still working.
