But yes, being so beautiful makes it a little bit harder. We’ve been on a couple of trails where the tundra “fit”. Always finding new scratches after wheeling with this behemoth. So capable but so wide.

Also forgot to add previously that perhaps you can take a look for the National Coatings and Supplies store in Boise. I have one here in town that does a splendid job for mixing our 8W2 code quite nicely. It is about $19 bucks for each rattle can. It is very easy to use, has strong acrylics, and matches very well.

    I hear you hermano.

I just picked up my truck from the paint shop 15 minutes ago. They had to paint an approx 1” long gouge of a scratch that my kiddo did. He was trying to be helpful and load his bike up into the bed but wasn’t quite tall enough and his sprocket did a nice number on the tailgate...

He is paying for it and has three more payments to go but is thinking twice about his decisions since then.

It has been a lesson for all of us... Just a few years ago I would have gone ape s#*t crazy and rampaged and such. The difference is all of that just happened inside my head while I calmly gave myself a time out to process. I love my truck but I LOVE my offspring too (actually slightly more).

I hope you find a way to resolve your scratches that apeases your OCD... Kinda know how that goes.

Hello from NM. I’ve had my Tundra for almost a year.
    Coming over from a Tacoma.
    Just getting started with mods.
    First will be my lift.
Then tires and wheels. Any ideas, suggestions or do’s and dont’s would be appreciated.
I’m thinking of 35’s but have heard to go with 285’s.

285 or 295 are a little easier for fitment, but if you want 35’s go for it
Wheel size and backspacing also come into play greatly when it comes to fitment.

I found a small access road that runs along some tracks behind my office building. Been driving back on my lunch break to take a walk. Little getaway has been right behind me for years.

Bought my first new vehicle and first Tundra in late may. I fell in love with the color and plan to eventually upgrade the wheels, but I still think it’s great to look at as-is. Drove about 3k round trip to Florida and it was an absolute dream to drive. Love the power!

Welcome to the cavalry life. The possibilities are endless with these trucks. I think anything and everything looks good on this color, chrome, black, you name it.

Hahaha, both good lookin twins. I'm surprised we haven't ran into each other yet. It was an easy install for me, worth the wait and definitely love the look. Feels like I have a new truck. Tires/Wheels/Level are next!

    Well...

I have cut it down to “weekly” nowadays. It used to be every other day for awhile there...

I promise it was dirty from all the week’s dirt from biking, little trailing, ranching, and such.

It will get back to looking more “rugged” in a day or two. :D

:fistbump: I always feel guilty anyway. I live down a dirt/gravel road and I have no garage/shade. Couple that with the high elevation and it's hard on any vehicles finish. I am really thinking about getting mine to a detailer for full blown paint correction and protection. It's just so expensive. @Ckatz53 needs to live closer! I'd happily pay more than he charges for the quality of work.

Yeah, I hear you. I cheat sometimes and wash inside the garage. So I am spoiled in that regard.

Agreed with all of the detailing too! Some of that is for next weeks’ wash.

    Cheers

I live on gravel too. My last tundra was a 2010 and the last few years I had it, it got washed once or twice a year to get salt off. That was pretty much it. Trying to keep this one in better shape, but I can wash it in the AM and the first drive out of my driveway it's covered in dust. Plus driving 5 mph gets old pretty quick trying to keep dust down, lol.

Indeed. I've got a bit over a mile to pavement, so I don't want to putt along for 20 minutes at 5 mph every time I need to go somewhere.
