I just picked up my new 2019 Tundra Limited and wanted to get folks opinion on side steps that will go well with it. I plan to put a 3/2 lift on it and my wife is vertically challenged so side steps are in order.

Looking for something that has a wide step area, fits clean to the body and goes with the little bit of chrome the truck has without looking "old man". Fine balance in all that.

What do you guys think are my quality options in your opinion?

Are you going to be off-roading? If so, invest in sliders. Buy once, cry once. I initially bought running boards, then had an “incident” this weekend, and will be investing in sliders in the future, they bolt to the frame, not the body. Running boards can bend upwards and damage your cab if you bottom out. They make sliders with tread plate so they can be used as steps for the missus.

    Here’s my experience:

Amp research. I just did a 3ish/2ish but already had the steps. I like them because they are out of the way when not in use. Have a pretty wide step when needed. I do not off road though.

Great looking setup! What size and type tires are you running?

I have the Predator Steps on mine, they came with the truck. I think they look cool and all but.. they kill the ground clearance, but if you're lifting anyways may be fine. As far as vertically challenged though- I'm 5'3" and they're awesome.

I also just installed a set of these Tyger Star Armor steps on my truck and they look great. I do not plan on any heavy off road driving so not worried about hitting them. They install very easy.

Mine came with the predator steps, they are fine if you have small feet.

Installed the AMP research power steps. They have a wider step, and have been working great since I installed them.

I went with the Go Rhino RB20 steps. Very wide platform, hug the cab, and look good. I want some sliders but haven’t decided on which and wanted a step right away so I figure for the price I would go with the RB20. I want to lift but until then won’t be doing anything hardcore off-road so shouldn’t have an issue with damage. They are nice for door dings too. Help minimize due to the wide step. Don’t have any pics on me but there are threads on here with pics already.

had the oem predator steps on the 2016 tacoma. meh for northern climates as the leading edge of the step brace accumulates snow and gets chipped/paint peel really bad. plus the brace is so thin that any impact will bend the step and/or break off easily.

After thinking about this for a couple of months I just pulled the trigger on these. Note these are for DOUBLE CAB, don't order these for your truck. When the price just dropped to $279 I jumped on them.

I would prefer a true slider, but being realistic with myself my FJ60 is what sees the trail and I don't need to spend $1000 on sliders for a daily driver that will only see dirt roads.

The other option I was looking at is the N-fab RKR rails, they look like a slider but bolt to the body. They also have steps you can add on but they don't flow as nicely as the ones I linked above. Plus they cost $450-500.

Again, these are for a DC, don't order them for your CM.

I'm also a fan of Amp steps.
I rarely step on them, bought and installed them for my 5' wife.
