The dog is a big reason I am looking into a softtopper. I looked through the threads and it’s brought up briefly but I wanted to ask everyone specifically how everyone’s pups do in the bed with the ST. Anyone else leash them in too or just let them roam free? Are your pups rough on the interior material? Hard enough for them to get out? Rigby wants to know :)

They make kennels that secure in the bed of the truck. A soft topper would keep the sun off, but you'd need ventilation. I'm not familiar with soft toppers, but if your dog is riding in the bed they should be secured.

I have a leer shell and keep my dogs back there with the windows open, they love sticking their heads out. Depending on where you live a soft top might get way too hot with no windows to open.

Softtopper sells a mesh back "hatch" panel that you could zip on and off for when Rigby is in the back. I would assume that would allow for some airflow when on. Another option would be to leash him in the bed but then roll the normal back window piece up (like how I have mine in this pic here). Ive done that with my friends dog for short trips around town

    Great looking dog btw!
