Yeah, screw apple, and the rest of them. I have an old, by electronics standards, Kenwood DDX 271. I got it even though it was the lowest end of the DDX series because it did what I wanted. The higher end added things like blue teeth and Sirrus with the same audio specs. I prefer white teeth, but mine are kinda tan. But they had the same audio specs. Now, two or three times a year, it hiccups and can't find the input. Turn it off and back on again, it works fine. I actually had to do a firmware update, that the hell? It's a car stereo.

As advanced research, I looked at replacements. I couldn't find a single one that supports iPods now. Even newer versions of iTunes don't support iPods anymore.

OK, rant over. You may return to your regularly scheduled program.

Screw Apple and their planned obsolescence. But when I got my iPod 15 years ago, it was the cheapest option to hold the most music.

I concur. I've got 3. A friend tried to get me to get a zoom, I think it was? I stuck with ipod, but I don't think there was a good choice. Betamax or VHS?

He is. This is his 3rd season. The first 2 he drove good, but didn't have enough car to finish well. This year he built a new car, with a Honda engine from Japan. About 20 more HP the the US version. The coolest thing to me is, he teaches automotive at the local vo tech. His kids helped build the car and a few of them are in his pit crew.

That's super cool! I bet those kids love seeing something they worked on slinging around the track.

    what's wrong with Chebby's? :notsure:

My 2017 Chebby hates my ipod as well. I'd like to just go with XM radio but with the camper blocking the antenna I can only listen when I'm headed due south so...
Sometimes the ipod plays fine. sometimes it will only play the song in alphabetical order. sometimes it tells me i only have one song on there. i dunno. i've given up trying to figure it out.

At least the iPod is theoretically an option for you.

oh, and i forgot...it likes to not auto advance to the next song so you have to hit the next button but then it actually skips the next song and goes to the one after it...
