Rust. Either it’s clearing the threads or it’s ripping the threads out.

It’s best to loosen, tighten, loosen, tighten. Till it comes out. It knocks all the shit out of the threads without damaging them

Kk thanks and quick question. At 138 degrees tranny temp my dipstick reads slightly below the hot mark hash marks, is that alright for just tonight when i drive a few miles to my friends? Or is 138 not considered "hot"

Do you haul the dash out w/ another tech or do they have some fancy arm thing to take the weight & wheel it out?

I pull the steering wheel out and I pull them alone. They’re not too heavy or awkward.
If anyone’s free I’ll have them help me though. But usually we’re all pretty busy these days

I just read that link above. I remember when someone posted that ‘dyno video’ here back in the winter sometime and you had come to your above posted conclusion. I watched that video back then and stated to you basically what Keith stated in his response below (from the above link) that you will notice the shifting and drivability differences for sure. Those aren’t measured on the dyno. I also brought up the ECU reset going from one injector to the other which I don’t think was factored in back when that dyno video was posted which I just read Keith brought up, as well.

I’ve been clear about these injectors since day one. Do NOT do these for MPG. Do these if you want to have newly cleaned injectors as the cost is about the same as having the old ones cleaned without the downtime. The benefit I noticed was the truck shifts better and holds the gears a little longer and I actually can feel a downshift when slowing as opposed to the old lazy non shift delay coming to a stop.

Where I diverge from Keith are the MPG gains (.5+ maybe for me?). Everything else his description of the 12 hole is spot on.

I think I may have been living in cities too long.
While your photos are beautiful, all the empty space kinda freaks me out a little. Which is a turnabout as I used to hate how crowded cities were.

Awww I feel special, like 1 big shoe special.

Been busy wheeling and dealing and getting some things done at home. After evicting a tenant we have to renovate that unit. It's been tough because I'm still recovering and I really don't have the strength.
I'm having fun with the electronics though, I just picked up another amplifier. Meridian 100x2, original price tag was around $3-4000 in 2005. Still haven't placed it in my setup yet, no time yet.

I'm happy I avoided this lol.

The injectors don't add power, but the truck performs better in many areas. The transmission shifts up & down freely, engine feels smoother. Would I do it again? Yes

Yep. Same here. They did the goofy video test, didn’t even drive it/or allow ECU relearn, and then claim it as ‘scientific’.

I remember being the Guinea Pig here on these. I had never even done an injector repair before either and had no instruction on this other than some basics. I was a little intimidated doing it, but now really glad for doing it. Every now and then, the downshifts catch me off guard as for so many years there never was a downshift. Just that lazy idle into a slowdown and then the pedal/shift delay into acceleration.

Regarding the injectors, and all the points of info brought about by the above link, and inevitable pissing contest in said link.

Agreeing with @FirstGenVol and @Professional Hand Model on both things said by each.

FGV: At 300k it was probably good maintenance.
PHM: Given circumstances of no wait acceleration I'd say it was worth.

    Paraphrased, of course.

This came to realization this AM in the fog. Its 4:45 am. Still dark, and thick fog. I'm the only one at a 4-way intersection. Turning left. All 3 lights turn green.

I pull out into the intersection, and start to make my turn. I notice unusual activities out of my left hand peripheral vision. I turn my head, and see a silver sky metallic camry with no lights running the red light. I'm mid-intersection. The car is about 12-15 yards on the other side of the thick white "stop line" at the intersection. I'm about 18-20 yards from that.

My brain processed a full throttle foot command. I stab her to the floor. The truck, revs, and goes at the same time.

I SWEAR on my life, and on my truck that had I still had the OEM injectors installed... The truck would have revved, and I would have been waiting for far too long for my truck to "go."

Now, that may be the case if I had simply gotten just new, clean 4 hole injectors too. Either way the "clean" injectors more than likely saved my life this morning. As that would have been a T-bone event with a car going about 25 mph over the speed limit.

As I got out of the intersection I happened to see that the driver was on their phone. of course.

My aunt loves pickups, Dodge to be specific. She had to sell it when they moved from Texas back to Florida and she has been suffering with my mothers Avalon. Whenever I'm around she always grabs my keys and enjoys driving a truck again. Well last weekend was the first time she drove it after all the work I've done and all she kept saying was wow, over and over. She always said that the tundras drove like crap, not anymore. Her ex-husband is a mechanic and she has quite a bit of experience driving trucks

The other thing I learned from another reading about these injectors is they have a more robust internal design. That comment comes from another reman’d seller online selling the same injector. I’d love to find the Denso Spec on the 12holes. I’ve tried searching on Denso Site and can’t even get a lead. Used different engines etc to backdoor a nugget, but nothing.

This is good feedback and is what I rely on. Its even better when the person doesn’t know you did something and then notices the difference. This has happened on the sound deadening and my lumbar support mod on more than one occasion.

Exactly. The fact that my truck is 15 years old and has over 100k miles now is something that she referenced, not so much about the power but just how smooth and how good it felt driving. Transmission doesn't hang anymore
