Hello! I've been looking for a decent used truck for a while now and our family friend who is a mechanic has been steering me (no pun intended) towards a Toyota, specifically a Tundra.

Around my neck of the woods it's hard to find a decent preowned Tundra that isn't either high price or very high mileage. I found a 2010 Tundra Crewmax SR5 with the 5.7L engine. It has 215,000 miles and out the door with TTL I'm at $13k. It's a one owner, no accidents, and has been maintained very regularly. My mechanic friend went with me to look at it and she really put it through the ringer on the test drive. She says it's a solid truck and it's a good value. The only thing really with it is cosmetic issues but all I really care about is that it's reliable. I trust her opinion very highly so I'm now working with my wife just to be sure this is in our budget.

Is this a 4wd? I got my 2011 5.7 DC 2wd with 125k on it down here in Houston for 13k out the door a couple months back. But i have noticed the used prices have gone up since and inventory seems to be getting low.

It’s a 2WD. The price seems high to me too, but NADA has retail at $15.5k. My mechanic friend told me $13k out the door was not bad. What I like about this truck is it’s a one owner and has been maintained.

If the truck lived it's entire life in the south, then there shouldn't be any rust issues. I bought my 2011 RW six months ago with 150,000 on it and was an Arizona truck it's whole life. No rust at all, obviously well maintained. I think I got a good deal at $16.5.

one owner and maintained is a plus. Mine had a couple owners and the cheaper price probably chalked up to a couple dents and plenty of scratches on mine. Mechanically it seems rock solid. But yeah the price seems okay for what Ive seen lately if its super clean as well.

It has some surface scratches on both sides of the truck that should buff out. The windshield has three rock chips that my friend said would be about $50 to fix so I will have her do that. She checked underneath the truck, under the hood, and said there were no leaks and it looks like the water pump was already done, the radiator was replaced, several hoses were replaced, and the coils have been replaced, and all fluids looked good. She told me the only thing I would possibly need to address sooner rather than later are the front tires as they are close to end of life, but the rear tires look brand new. Mechanically this truck should be good for a while before needing anything done.

I'll need to get the yellow off of the headlights but that's to be expected, and I may end up replacing them with the Sequoia's headlights.
