Stock. No tow package, 4:10 gears
Hey guys. I got my self an 08 Tundra 5.7 2wd 109k, with no tow package a week ago. Ive been around these trucks since 08 as my dad has one with 4.0. I had never driven a 5.7 until I test drove mine and it was convincing enough to take it home. I also have a 00 Tacoma 3.4 5spd 4x4 with fairly low miles and I just dont think the wear and tear from daily driving were worth it and I needed something more comfortable as a daily.

Before buying I did research and my main concern was the cam tower leak and AIP issues. Upon inspection, there were no signs of leaking.

Due to the age, I was offered a 2 year/24000 power train warranty. Attached are 2 photos showing what's covered in red and blue is excluded. Got em down to $1137

    Thanks guys!

Welcome. Don’t do it save some mod money and repair money in savings. 2 years goes buy quick. I hate to put this out there and something does happen but man these trucks run a long time even it they leak a little oil.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! There are way too many exclusions to spend that much for 2 years of coverage. Take care of your truck and it will take care of you!

Welcome to the forum! If it were a Mopar vehicle, I'd buy the warranty. I don't think you'll incur $1137 worth of covered repairs in 2 years, so I'd bank the money. A bird in the hand and all that.

Welcome from UT! To be honest, the warranty covers the items that these trucks are known for as "Bullet Proof," so I wouldn't do it. I had an '07 and it was solid with 197,000 miles, it took a drunk driver head on to kill it, and even then the engine was still running and able to start. If it hadn't obliterated the front passenger wheel and assembly I would have driven home.
