I am looking for an exhaust to make the truck sound a little beefier than stock but I know If you size up the piping too much you will lose low end torque. I tow a lot and enjoy the peppy low end it has I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations to increase the sound a bit but maintain that 2.5 or 2.75 piping or whatever it has.. I know Gibson has some models that are specifically designed for this as they mention it in their description torque at 1500-3000. I think Borla has something similar too single exits with smaller piping. Anybody have any suggestions thanks

The factory TRD exhaust sounds good as well as what Dirty Deeds offers, just for options. Gibson will be loud and lots of drone In cab. I personally don’t care for Gibson. Borla is nice too. I have had the TRD exhaust on my 1794 for four years now and love it. No noticeable low end torque loss and just enough rumble tos satisfy when you mash on the peddle. Hope that helps.

Pretty sure the TRD dual has been proven to have low end losses, @dirtydeeds is that correct or is my memory not serving me well at the moment?

I have a Gibson with a 4" tail section after the muffler. Never felt like it lost its low end when I swapped from stock. Now I'm lifted an have 34" tires an tow travel trailer pretty often.. the truck still does not feel weak on low end power .Not saying it didn't loose a few on a Dyno possibly but I wouldn't loose sleep over it either...Truck still pulls hard

I believe you are correct most all dual systems loose torque.

IMHO an this is not directed at Dirty Deeds because they make great systems. I spoke with a very knowledgeable exhaust shop near me and they do not believe the TRD exhaust causes lost torque. I spoke with them about the X-pipe/H-pipe. Their response was it would not serve to improve anything. The reason is because the catalytic converters serve to provide the needed back pressure. If the catalytic converters were not on the vehicle, then yes, you would see the torque loss. I have heard over and over again that the dual exhaust system loses torque. I can't confirm or deny that until I see some dyno reports for both Dirty Deeds and the TRD to compare. I like to see some research before I just take someone's word for it.

Thanks for the recommendation and info so I looked at some of those the 8” you think would maintain the low end with a single exit??

Are any of these exhausts dyno proven or is this good faith?

I lost nothing by going with the 8” system. All gains.

If there is loss of torque I don’t think it’s significant enough to be noticeable on its own. I didn’t notice any on mine and most TRD owners will say the same.

Save your money and go with Gibson. Yes you have some drone at a certain RPM but at least you weren't born with one eye.

I'm surprised someone hasn't used that saying of buy once cry once. Yeah that got a little old especially if the person doesn't stop crying.
