I replaced this stalk with one that has fog lights and intermittent wiper functions.

So did the light stalk give you auto off lights?

And no relay or other device was required for the lights to then go Auto Off?

I already replaced the Wiper Stalk and it did magically gave me intermittent wipers as you know but I have not been positive that the lights stalk replacement did the same kind of Magic?!

There needs to be an ambient light sensor on the dash at the base of the windshield for the Auto Headlamps to work. Otherwise the Magic doesn't know if it's Night or Day.

I just mean the Auto Off feature that turns the lights off when you turn the truck off not the Ambient Light Auto Off.

I have had this feature on every other Toyota I have had since the '90s but somehow this Tundra does not?

Ooooooooh! lol I think that by default the headlamps turn off after a few minutes, but I could be remembering it wrong and it could be as long as 20 minutes, which doesn't do all that much for you. There may be a setting that's changeable in Tech Stream. This may seem kind of hokey, but if you have a battery charger, hook it up, leave your headlamps on and time them seeing if they go off by themselves. There may be something in the Owner's Manual too, otherwise Tech Stream. Sorry I don't have anything more definitive.

They don't and it seems to be a feature that they removed for the SR model to save almost no money to manufacture and in fact they need to manufacture an additional Stalk just for the deletion of the feature it seems!

Didn't think this would get so much discussion... but here's what I replaced the OEM SR stalks with. Dealer installed it along with a bunch of other bits (like LED fogs), but I don't think any extra coding / parts / magic were needed. Once the stalk has a fog light switch, those work. Once it has intermittent wipers, those work too.

But as I understand it, he was trying to determine if adding a headlamp switch/stalk like the one you showed will enable functionality of having his headlamps automatically turn off after a given time, when the switch is left in the ON position when the engine is turned off.

Thank you for that clarification. I knew I was missing something.

I just went out to check.... on the current stalk (and I think on the one for sale) when switch is in Auto - after turning off truck, exiting and locking, lights remain on for about 30 seconds and then turn off.

When in the Headlight (On?) position, turning off ignition and about to exit the truck, I get a "hey dumbass, turn off your lights" message on the dash and I didn't wait long enough to see if they finally automatically turn off, because I doubt they will.

If you ignore the bell and walk away they auto shut off after a couple of minutes. I don't remember the exact time but they do. Same thing with the interior lights.

Should be able to hit the lock button twice to turn the lights off too, it works on my 07 that doesn't have automatic lights.
