Bought my 16 with steelies. Found some alloys off of a 2010 for $100. I got them powdercoated this week. I think they turned out nice. I went this route because I wanted to keep 18" wheels and I had seen these in black and actually liked them. I also paid less to buy them and have the work done than if I have just bought black aftermarket wheels. If anyone is in the Cincinnati area, I know a powdercoated that does great work.4d258e68b760342b782d830174c4c0c6_68400bfa224e1a5a3c6a30e0ccca832209e6b7f9.jpg

That is the plan. I am going to paint the chrome Toyota T a graphite color to give it a bit of a ghost effect.

I was thinking about doing the same. I got some stock wheels for free. Post a picture once they are on your truck!

Powdercoat ran me about $415. That was sandblast and prep, primer coat and powder.

Man, these look amazing. I have been toying with the idea of getting mine powdercoated with a gunmetal look. I am in Cincinnati (Maineville up by Kings Island). I'd love to know where you went. We'll have to connect sometime!

For sure! I am up in Mason quite a bit. Live in Finneytown/Wyoming area.

I went to Killer Koatings in Covington. Great group of guys. Pretty reasonable on prices and quick turn around. They are on facebook.

I painted my center caps black and dark gray. 4 coats of Rustoleum Automotive black and 3 coats automotive clear coat in gloss. The emblems were Rustoleum charcoal and painted the in the same way.

Nice wheels they look great on the truck. I have a set of Steel wheels and was thinking of powder coating them or plasti-dipping them to have a back up set from my aftermarket wheels.

Try plastidip first. Super cheap. Www.dipyourcar.com has kits starting at around $40 for wheels. It was my second option if i didn't do powdercoat.

Yea, let's try to connect. I think it would be cool to find other Tundra owners also. There is a Tundracrew FB page that you might like as well. I've been able to find some local guys there as well.

I'll check out Killer Koatings. I just purchased a Toytec spring set from someone and am thinking about getting them powdercoated as well.

    Thanks!!

Hopefully you have better luck with them then myself. I had my TRD wheels powder coated black and 5 months later I've already got some chipping/cracking in some spots from romping around off road...

I do very little off roading, mostly light duty stuff while camping, hence the H/T tires and not A/Ts. When it is time for new tires, I will consider some A/Ts for the more aggressive look. But as it stands, the truck only has 5600 miles on it right now and I felt it would be a waste to buy new tires right now.

I forgot to tell you if you are thinking of a gunmetal color, check out Killer Koatings pictures on facebook and look for the color Blackjack. It is a black with a sheen that is not flat or gloss, sorta in between. Looks good. Was going to be my other option if gloss wasn't going to work out (due to possible pitting of the aluminum).
