Center Console replacement shifter hole problem solved

so after installing a new center console that shifter hole was driving me crazy. So I ordered the stainless steel shifter trim from Amazon and had my machine shop do this for me. I think works fine. Now all Yetis fit in my new cup holder.

Look for the trim on Amazon and the rest was done custom by my machine shop. It's 3" deep and just tell the machine shop to make a cup holder out of it. I think is the best explanation I can come up with.

That looks great. I recently swapped my jump seat for a console. The hole bugs me also. Did you have a/c ducts for your jump seat? What did you end up doing for your ducts when you mounted the console?

 

Have the same sat radio. Running everything through my phone app now via bluetooth much easier and cleaner.

 

I got the version of the console where instead of A/C vents you get 2 cup holders...

 

So the rear passengers have their own cup holders in the rear of the console? Wish I would have known. I’m looking over the internet trying to figure how to do DIY vent ducts.

 

Yes instead of the two vents you have two collapsible cup holders in place. I’m sure you can buy the cup holder part from Toyota and change it. Is a part that is replaceable. And you don’t have to replace the whole console. I don’t have a picture with me but as soon as i can get one I will post it.

If possible run your XM off the phone app and bluetooth or wired connection to the HU.
It sounds 1000X better than the satellite signal..

 

Put the console in yesterday. So far this is the best solutions I’ve seen. If you can produce another one I’d gladly pay for one

 

Has anyone gone the other way? Removed their console, added the jump seat, and swapped the console shifter to a column shifter?

 

Not that I’m aware of, but I have a jump seat for sale in CT lol

Was thinking about something I could do to make the two cup holes bigger. Hold one 32 once wide mouth and 16 once skinny bottle
