I installed this on my 13 and it was a direct bolt in replacement, no extra hardware required. I also did the weatherstripping between the bumper and grille and it gave it a better reveal visually.

nice! and may i compliment you on your correct application of the toyota retro work. correct first color left to right and angle for the side of the vehicle it's on. see a lot of folks that have it incorrect and don't have the heart to tell them.

Welp, I just ordered everything from Cool Springs! :) But, they are out of stock and have to get from Toyota. :-(. Wish they had shown that up front on their website as I might have gone Sparks. Hopefully it will only take the 1-2 days to get from Toyota and then ship out.

Chances are Sparks would also have to get it from a different warehouse. It seems like they all do it for non-high use items.

Thank you all for the kind words, I love that this option is available for the second gens, it updates the entire front end to look more modern. (plus it's much cheaper than a new truck payment!)

I ended up going with Sparks and the grill and bulge got here today! Fast service indeed. So getting the hive's thoughts on this since it looks like most folks have color-matched theirs. The grill I got is the OEM Sequoia black, that actually has some really cool metallic flecks in it, including a darker blue. To repaint it to match my 2013 Aquatic Blue would cost almost as much as the grill did ~ about $340 with clear coat. With my color blue, black fenders, and 2.5 gen black/silver wheels, I almost think the grill would look ok as is. If my truck was a lighter color I don't think it would work, but with the dark Aquatic Blue I think it might. I'm thinking I'll give it a try but if I hate it I don't want to break anything taking the bulge back off...who else went with black? TMC are you sticking with black? Kind of the exact opposite of all that chrome I'm trying to get rid of.

I ordered black( but my truck is black so.....). Anyway real jealous you got yours already. I still have to wait another week and a half for mine to arrive. Hopefully sooner than later. Getting tired of checking my email every five minutes for status update .
I’m real ocd about my things so if it was me I would paint it to match. Do it right once and enjoy. Sounds like you are leaning towards that way anyway.
Good luck and post some pics.

if you're brave enough some good results could be had with rattle can https://www.tundras.com/threads/how-to-get-great-results-from-rattle-can-paint-tons-of-pics.51748/

but for me, when i spoke with the body shop they pointed out that my color salsa red has 20 diff shades even though paint code is 3Q3. so i took it to them for the exact match. i doubt my cheap rattle can paint wouldn't have been exact. i like color match but since you have other accents in black like flare it's prob gonna flow well imo.

pulling the bulge off again i hear is a pita. i had a hard time just getting it installed and snapped in. hoping i never have to go back in again. lol.

Welllll... I got impatient, or brave or whatever, and went for it. Honestly I could go either way because of my other black accents but I guess time will tell. The gap underneath is MUCH bigger than I thought. I used the weather stripping recommended here and it doesn't even touch. Did I do it right?

Regarding weather stripping. I have been doing some research and I also found this which is 3mm taller (11mm vs 14mm).

I haven’t ordered mine yet. I’m going to wait until I install my grill first and then decide.

It’s 3/4” so it might work out better but wondering about longevity/ water issues.

Hmm. Those might work better. I guess aesthetically it doesn't really matter because it's all pretty black in there. I guess I'll see how it goes and if it lasts.

The black actually looks pretty good. At least it looks like I did it on purpose! ;-)

Great to know! The blue metallic fleck is really nice. Looks good with the nautical blue for sure. Would love to see a Sequioa that color.

Finally got mine knocked out, turned out good, was a mega quick and easy install. Didn't need all the new hardware I bought, but I swapped it out anyways with some fresh stuff. Wish the gap wasnt there, but doesnt stand out to anyone else who looks at it and doesnt know about it.

I think this totally revives an old truck, especially with the headlights. Super happy!

New to all this, so sorry for being a dummy. Everything here is what I need for the grille and headlight conversion for a 2008 Tundra, correct? Minus the harness and headlights that is.

Anyone else waiting longer than three weeks to receive their grill order? Just called my local Toyota dealer parts department and the guy said it should be another week. WTF? Something about national back order...........

Mine took almost exactly three weeks to get in. It seems they are selling them as fast as they can be made.
