Finely got to go camping.

 

Added a Toyota factory tailgate power lock today on my Double Cab Long Bed. It’s awesome and should be standard on all trucks. I liked the Toyota version for a few reasons, wire harness is made by a Tier 1 OEM supplier (lock part seemed to be same as Amazon version pop lock pictures), wire harness has high grade heat shield for where it passes the muffler, Wire harness has a OEM grade body grommet where it enters the cab for no leak install, and there is full PDF install instructions on sparksparts page with pictures.

Took me about 1.5 hours and was plug and play. Only difficult part is wire tires along the frame.

I just watched a YouTube review of this exact muffler on a Tundra. How's the sound compared to stock?

thanks! How was the install? Did you do it dry or use the spray that they sell?

 

I bought some vinyl decal spray and felt squeegee kit on Amazon. It took about 30-45 min per tire. I took my time and did it in a couple of days. Removed the tire to make it easier. Easier than when I plastidip my tacoma wheels. Plus it's holding up after 2 months. In the dimple areas of the wheel I used my finger to depress the vinyl, matched up really well. Just cleaned the wheel before the process.

 

I went with the Eneki ST6 (in my profile pic) and really like them. Running 275 BFGs. They're one of the most underrated wheels in my opinion.

 

Nothing much, just this. There may be a few fellow guardians who know what this is. Payday is coming up and I’m considering bed lights.

 

By chance have you done any work on your engine cover? I’m considering using high temp paint and doing some red highlights to match the TRD cold air intake.

 

No under the hood mods yet.

 

Thanks for the picture and the info. My kit for these showed up 2 days ago. I will start on it this weekend. Ordered the install items from Amazon yesterday. Hoping they hold up a while. Next year I will get the wheels powder coated.

High temp paint will work.

 

I have my kit in hand, plan to use soap water style install. It worked back when I installed roof wrap on buddies truck. I will post either success or failure

I've seen these TRD CAIs before. Is it worth $400+? Really on the fence with that mod, even after doing some research. Heard good things and bad things..
