    Hey y’all
I recently purchased a subwoofer kit from HiFi sound connection for the double cab. Came with the box, subs, amp, and wiring kit. Got it all installed went to fire it up and nothing happened. Believing that it may have been the amp my buddy tried his and still nothing which leads me to believe it had something to do with the head unit. It is a sony radio with apple car play. The amp has power as well so it’s not that it’s not getting power. Any suggestions, thoughts, tips appreciated.

I m far from an expert, but are you using existing wiring, and use a harness adaptor, or did you run your own? What kind of headunit? Does it have low level outputs, (rca connections), and if so, did you use them? I think running high level, (amplified), outputs to an amp can cause problems. In the past I have taken my components, and hooked them up to power whether it be a battery, or a 12 volt power supply, and tested them. It should run. It could be a load of different things. It could be something as simple as selecting, on the head unit, the type of media you are trying to play. For instance, if you want to play fm make sure head unit is set to play fm, and not usb, or what ever settings you have. I ve done that before on my kenwood hu.

Are the other speakers playing? Do you have a voltmeter or another speaker that you can see if there is output from the amp? Can you try the sub in your buddy's vehicle?

give us a link to what you bought.

You are 100% sure that the amp has power and you are getting 12v to the remote terminal when the stereo is on? A quick check if you dont have a multi-meter is take a jumper wire from the positive of the amp to the remote terminal of the amp.

Also post up whats the model of the head unit. Did you make sure to turn the subwoofer on in the head unit settings?

Yeah, you need constant 12V to the power terminal and then another 12V signal that kicks on when the stereo kicks on or ACC power. Try the jumper cable that @Danimal86 is suggesting.

I would run the rca s into the amp. If the high level outputs are amplified the amp may not like it. Plus I doubt the channels are getting full range like they would get through rca s.
