    To whom it may concern,

I just bought a black 2007 Tundra SR5 double cab. This truck will be my new daily drivers once I complete a few modifications and get it where I want it to be. Before I can complete the list of mods I'd like to make I wanted to do some research regarding the good and the bad of the parts I want.

Here below is a lists of the mods I am looking to make:

    1) 3-4 inch lift or level
    2) 18 inch wheels with 35 inch tires
    3) Bed Cap or Camper
    4) Color Match bumper/grill/badges

I would really appreciate if any of you guys would be willing to share advice on what products you have had success with. I'm looking for quality products and not the cheapest products, however, I'm not planning on rock crawling ever. The most off-roading I will do would be camping with the family or very mild trail riding.

Thanks to anyone that contributes to this build. Below should be a couple pictures of the truck

Since you have black, look for a Rock Warrior grille and bumper for your color match.

    Welcome from Alberta :canada:

Nice rig. I suggest helper air bags with the bed cap and/or truck camper. These trucks have a lower payload capacity so helped are needed.

    I’m on a Old Man Emu 3.5” lift. I like it, it’s a dependable set-and-forget system.

The Rock Warrior bumpers I am seeing do not come painted. My thought is that if I am going to have to get them painted anyways, maybe I should sand and primer the chrome bumpers and just have them painted professionally.

Careful painting over chrome, it’s about the most difficult substrate to adhere to for most any coatings. FYI.

Thanks. I have the pro comp pro runner ss shocks.

They leveled my truck nicely. When I first installed them I was ‘nose high’ but after couple of weeks they settled down to ‘level’ stance.
They definitely ride better than stock and gets rid of nose dive during braking. I don’t off-road much (I have another truck for that) and it’s very affordable.
If I was to go for hardcore, I would look at Fox or kings.

Hey what size tires do you have let me guess 285/55r20 the tss model correct. Looks sharp. If you want 18" i highly recommend scs wheels made for toyota and durable as hell also very light with some toyo at3 35x12.5 with either a 3/1 or level would fit with little trimming. 6112 are great coilovers for the price point. Also with icon, spc, jba upper control arms are good choices two if you run 2.5in and higher aftermarket uca are a must.
Performance go with sabm mod with trd intake and exhaust dirtydeeds all day long having a sale right now with either dap or bullydog tune are the best tunes out their.

That is exactly the size. lol... I bought the truck with them on. Too much wheel and too little rubber for my taste, but I like them more than the stock wheels. I'm definitely considering the 3/1 level to get started and I do like Toyo tires.

Nice truck! It looks like it is on the way to being de-chromed so why not finish the job? A 10-13 black grille would look great, then either a black OEM bumper or aftermarket. I would also remove the chrome trim along the bottom of the doors. Looks dealer or owner installed, definitely not OEM. 3M Adhesive Cleaner works well for this, along with fishing line and plastic pry tools.

As for suspension, I have been very happy with my Bilstein 5100. It's affordable, rides great, and give you three height options for the front. Not sure if you will fit 35s with it though, I have 33s.

I like what you have done with your truck. I’d say my tastes are very similar to yours. I’m going to start a build thread within the next few days. The world needs to see more tasteful 2nd gen tundras. All I ever see online is 3rd gens, tacos, and 4runners.

    Welcome! Nice looking Tundra.

I like the TSS wheels . A 3 n 1 Lift/level most affordable. Many will say it is a harsher ride than suspension lift but not bad if not off-roading seriously.

Is that a glare on the lower part of your doors or is that a chrome molding like on mine?

for suspension, no need to break the bank but a small upgrade makes a big difference. check Bilsteins, Toytec. will be much better than stock. avoid spacers at all cost :)
since it's daily driver, get some AT tires, not as loud. The new Toyo AT3 or Falken AT3W in 35"s would be a great choice imo.

it’s chrome. I bought it that way not realizing it was after market. Same with my headlights, but they are crystal clear so I’m very happy with them.

7" BDS Coilover Suspension Lift/BDS UCAs/XB LED Headlights/Nitto trail Grappler tires on Black Rhyno Armory wheels
    I have an 07 also :D
The products I ve had success with are; Morimoto XB LED headlights, and a BDS Coil-over Suspension lift. I love the headlights. They make the truck look so much better they couldn t pay me to put stock lights back on, and I m betting you would love them too. My lift is 7". Sounds like you are thinking much lower, so it s probably not much help in that regard. Still; I m very happy with results:mudding:
