I'll get the high beam pic next time I am at the shop late. Wiring will have to be at a later date since I haven't cleaned it up with from my trial runs. Right now it would probably scare the mice out of your garage lol.

Apparently I completely missed this thread. So, how are these wired in? I assume they are not plug n play?

 

Depends.

If you just want a standard budget retro fit with no aux lights, it is plug and play.

If you want halos, it requires a power and ground (switched or keyed source)

If you want DRL with turn signals, it requires power, signal (turn signal circuit) and ground.

I have my halos and DRL wired to the park lamp circuit. I used the park lamp power to run the DRL/halos and the turn signal power to operate the sequential turn signals if that makes sense.

 

Are you selling both versions?

Knocked out a couple of orders this weekend. One ‘Cadillac’ build and one double cab build. Unfortunately with the double cabs, even though the are bigger in size, there is less room on the interior. At least I can say I can do them now but the DRL strip will not fit in the inside like they do on the access cabs.

Don't get too bummed out....I was little bummed during the DC build about a week ago but after being told many are installed on outside, I decided to pull the trigger. They'll be on their way soon and I'll post up what they look like on my DC.

I really like the strip. The only thing that would bug me is not having the strip in the corner light

That actually seems to be where most people install that kind of strip.

 

With the DRL, they are actually designed to be on the outside of the light. Well it isn’t as ‘clean’ as placing it on the inside, it looks pretty damn good. It also makes it a hell of a lot easier if you ever need to change it out.

I was a little surprised myself that there is less interior room on the DC lights. While it could be done with different methods, I wasn’t confident with the way they looked and opted to not put them in.

Been awhile since I updated this and I have had some more orders. I am adding these pictures so I can send the link to others who might be interestsed.

2005 DC build - H1 retro fit with halo in a matte black housing. These came out looking great. I am excited to see how they look installed!

 

Another double cab build. He WAS a member here but I understand something went south, so he no longer is. Before his depature, he was very happy with his build.

This customer was not interested in the looks but simply performance only. Plain-Jane chrome build with an H1 projector swap. Still looks OEM but he is now benefiting from with superior light output and performance.

 

Nice work brother. If I had found this thread I probably would have just sent you cash and been done with it. I got my projectors done but I have to replace the lenses on my headlights.

These look great! I still have concerns of the LED strips on the outside...
Will they not fall off over time?
Are they wired to around the back of the housings?
Could you do the strips on the inside (grille side) and bottom instead?

 

They could fall off over time but it would be simple to attach if they did if they are on the outside.

You can run the wires where ever you see fit.

You sure can. You can place them where ever you would like if you don’t want them on the headlight but it might look different if you use the turn signal function.

 

i'd love some blacked out retros.. but dang it no one makes matching corner lights and it irritates me.

 

I know and I’ve tried pulling apart the corner lights with no luck. I have the smoked ones on mine with switchbacks and they look pretty good.

 

Have you tried any of the fog lights housings?

That might look cool.

05 and 06 reg/access cabs dont even have smoked ones! oh well..

 

I’ve thought about it but it seems those little lights really don’t like to be taken apart. The big ones don’t either but you can convince them.

Nice work! Random question: what are the small oval lenses in the lower corner of the headlights used for? I've always wondered. I have them on my '06, and they do nothing as far as I know...
