Front Grill Letters Work

I popped the “TOYOTA” letters off of the front grille of my 2020 TRDPro, and deciding on these two options (just photoshopped for reference/concept) which would look better, All Barcelona Red or Black on top with Barcelona red backing?

Also any tips?

I'll be doing this as well. Just wondering, did the letters pop off from the front of the grill with a pry tool or did you have to do it from the inside of the grill?

and the black with red exterior looks mean.

 

I pulled mine and had them painted MGM to match the truck.
Not sure about the 2020 but on my 2014 I literally flossed the letters off with heavy fishing line.
They are stuck on with tape, but they have 'pins' on the back for alignment.
Cut several pieces of 3M molding tape to put them back on.

 

It’s about even...however I decided on Barcelona red and blackmm no on the front. I ordered a set of tuffskinz in the matte black (they didn’t have a high gloss black) and will slap them on in front after I paint the letters

 

It's your truck, but going all red would help get back some of the speed lost from it being white. Just sayin'.

It'll look good either way, and with the black overlays you can always remove it if you choose.

Why not white? I dont know about the red unless you have the TRD sway bar and red coil springs and tow hooks. Just my .02

 

I like the subtle touch my .02 cents( why did they remove the symbol for the cents from our lexicon anyway!!!!) more of my .02 cen son of a bitc.....

 

I feel like the traditional grey doesn’t fit in with the rest of the truck, and makes the grille look cheap...btw yes it will make my truck run faster...lololol

I’m still debating on switching the bumpers to black. Hmmm

Well, the spray paint I got sucked big time....lol. (Damn, you, Duplicolor!), but the decals kept the look clean.

So I can understand. You painted the OEM letters red and then layd the black overlay letters over the red? I’m looking at this route.. but instead of black overlay maybe try out white letters

 

yes that’s what I did. Tuff skins has different colors for the decals, even carbon fiber...I’m sure they have white

how did you remove the letters? Do you think J B Weld would work to put the letters back?

 

I don’t see why JB Weld wouldn’t work okay. I used 3m decal adhesive (also epoxy)

I used a plastic pry set to get the letters off worked like a charm, just go slow.
